Update.

Hi.

After reading up on lots of forum advice and watching i decided to install spire and use imzdl's proxies.

So far no issues with both.

Siri is working without issue.

Just one question tho.

They have supplied around 7 servers details.
If i wanted to use another server from them in spire how would i import the proxy details into the spire proxy host ?

U just replace the server URL in spire settings.. Very simple

Ok great, thanks. I think I'll go with this one

Your welcome. I have been using their service for two weeks. Initially there was some issue after using for 4 days. It took them a while to rectify it. After that it's all smooth sailing.

It's good overall. But u got to be ready to experience a few hiccups without actually shelling out for iPhone 4s. :)

By manually inputting one or is there a shortcut.

I received an e mail with the details of each one so would i just copy and paste ??

Does location of server matters to get a better speed for Siri(Spire)?

Yes very easy, it takes hardly 1 minute to change the certificates. and yes you get access to all their servers.

Whats the fastest way to change the certificates ?

Yeah I got it this morning and its awesome. I had a slot from Uhelios before this but he switched over to Google API which isn't even real Siri. These servers are definitely faster than his was.

Why are people paying for something like this...I have an iPhone 4s and rarely use Siri..

For me it's because ;

I own an iPhone 4 which suits my needs so the 4s is not really a natural upgrade for what I need.

I can use Siri until the next idevice is released.

Because apple says I can't have it and that it won't run on the iPhone 4.

After asking the question why can't I have and finding the answer lacking the next natural avenue is to ask, well how can I.

I just never found Siri very useful, it's not accurate and the time it takes me to get Siri to correctly search for what I say i could have manually done it myself. But hey, to each his own..just don't see the point to spending 20 bucks for something that is not that great to begin with lol

I use it more to tell Siri how much I hate her and to get back a funny response lol

Time will tell for me regarding siri's usefulness.

However this is the equation I was looking at based in the uk

I purchase my idevices open and not on long term contracts and I am interested in road testing Siri for myself so ;

My iPhone 4 with 1 years subscription to Siri = £12.72 sterling.

Buy iPhone 4s £499.00.

Buy a 4s second hand but in the Uk even they are not much cheaper than buying it brand new and I'm not comfortable in purchasing one from certain well known auction sites !

Doing what I have will keep me interested and going till the release of the next idevice.

With a lifeproof case and dirty fingers from working on stuff id rather press a button then smudge up the whole screen. Along with that I like to call siri names.

Yes manually copy pasting the URL.. No way around that.

And u dont need to switch certificates. Just install all of them once and for all. U don't need to worry about certificates after that. Just jump to any server of your wish..

How do I install them all ?

How do I then jump from one server to another in spire ?

Select each of the server from the list and select continue. And follow the steps to continue. Repeat the steps for all the certificates from the list. And to jump to another server, just replace the URL from spire's setting with the URL of your preferable server.

Thank you for taking the time to help.
I'd only done one of the servers !

Hi

Came across this thread after searching about how to get Siri on my iPhone 4.

Is everyone still getting good quick responses both from the company and using Siri.

I read that Siri is a little more awkward to use on the 4 because it lacks some form of background suppression that the 4s has ?

Also some say spire drains the battery faster ?

Looking forward to your advice.

iMZDL has been working great for some time now. Spire on the iP4 is not going to set any speed records but it works fine.

Agreed...it takes a few seconds to "launch", but once it's running subsequent command/queries are quite fast IMO.

sorry for the newb question.....but i'm very tempted to pay for this once they are accepting new users again.....but the only thing stopping me is the privacy issue.....how does anyone know for sure if they can or cannot see everything we say to siri.....and/or everything else on our actual phone??

They can (if they want to). Think of it this way - anything you ask Siri to do that involves your personal information (including contacts, the contents of texts/emails, reminders, docs, etc) will be sent out of your phone. Once it's out, anyone determined enough to get it, can. That said, I'm pretty certain that iMZDL's main concern is taking your money rather than your data (which may or may not have anything worthwhile.) Really, unless you're texting people your SSN and CC #s using Siri, you don't have much to worry about.

They can, if they want to. Probably not just what you say, but also all names in your contact list, and other stuff send along to make it easier for the servers to interpret what you say. If that is secret, don't use a Siri proxy (in fact don't use Siri at all, Apple could be peeking as well).

There is an existing post in here somewher which i cant find right now explaining what happens when you use Siri.

Can anyone highlight what happens and if your Siri commands can be viewed.

I don't see many people using a voice command to access critical info such as online bank account passwords etc.

As said they are selling a product. I can't even imagine the amount of data passing thro their servers.

"I cant take any requests right now"

I started hearing this last night before I went to bed around 10pm and now at 8am I am getting the same response. Does this mean the server is down, or overloaded?
