I really have no interest in driving to the Arden Fair store with a slim chance they might have them.

During iPhone/iPad launches, even if a store got a couple in, employees would still tell customers that call that they had none because they would most likely be gone by the time they got down there. They would much rather lie than spend 20 minutes dealing with a crazy screaming customer.

Most stores I called said to call back later in the day. They might receive delivery. If not later today, than tomorrow morning they should have them in.

Both stores I talked to yesterday said they would definitely have them in stock this morning. I called them back and of course, they don't have them, and have no idea when they are getting them.

Calgary has the new Airs and new standard MB Pros.

They have no ETA on the Retina Pro,
suggested to order online or just check each day.

It's seems to be a very hot item, I am surprised given the cost.
I dont think the demand will last its just too expensive and large for most.

Only Apple could have people lining up for a $2200 laptop.

called the apple store near me. they said they got some in stock but got sold out instantly. guess im ordering online.

I really didn't expect it to vary this much from store to store! It's incredibly frustrating.

Streets of Southpoint - Durham, NC

I just got back from the Durham, NC store. They didn't get RMBP and they had none on display. They did get the normal MBP.

I just went to the Raleigh, NC location and they still don't have any. Called Durham, NC and they confirmed they will not be getting them today either. Argggg

Well now that I can't get one in Virginia before I leave I have to get one in California. Has anyone heard any information from the Palo Alto apple stores?

I went to my local Apple Store before 10:00 AM this morning. There were a couple others waiting outside the store with me. A blue shirt came out and told us that there was a package in the back that it would be opened at noon and it would likely contain the MacBook Pros with Retina Display. I waited around for two hours...

When I came back to the store I was told that they had opened the package and there were no new MacBook Pros in it. Then, I was told that they are getting a FedEx shipment with at least two (for display) new MacBook Pros today. Those MacBook Pros would be on display tomorrow starting at 10:00 AM. Apparently, they may have extras for sale. What do others think about this? Sound legit, or is it the usual Apple BS?

Sounds like B.S to me. Just wait a couple days an they'll have more than enough to accommodate consumer demand. It's price at $2200, it's not like the iPhone where everyone is going to flock out to get one at $600 or $200 on a contract.

how does this sound to you? "We are getting 2 macbook pros for display, and may get more to sell"

....they have no idea :)

none of the stores know what they are getting. all they know is they receive shipments throughout the day.

what arrives is anyone's guess.

my store in ct receive shipments early afternoon.

will call them to around 2 to see if they receive any retinas today.

Calling more stores now as they are just opening here, and I realize how silly this is.

Guy on the phone just started to say yes they do have the retinas, then I heard someone in the background correct him and he said they don't.
