In Store Today?

I keep getting different answers from different people when I ring up the apple stores in London. Basically they are full of it!

THey are suppose to have them today. THey got 7. Sold out instantly. Suppose to have them tomorrow morning. Now when I phone them they say they won't have them until friday.

USELESS. A computer and software company has a VERY clear outlook of it's logistics and inventory.

It's really annoying. I've been waiting for this computer a very long time, yesterday they said it would be shipped tomorrow! I need this for a big job next week!

You should send an email to Tim Cook - explain your situation - remind him of his "Ships today" comments, etc. Stranger things have happened.

Really? The guy there told me over the phone they haven't received any shipments of the RMBP. You sure he got the retina one??

Precisely what happened to me. Spoke with someone on the phone (South Park Mall Apple Store, Charlotte, NC) when they opened and they said they had them right then. I double checked to make sure that it was the "Retina" MacBook Pro... yes. Well, I got there (a 30 minute drive, as well) and no, there were none. No idea of when they might get them but it might be 'a while.'

Oh well, more disappointed for the disinformation than anything, mainly because I got my hopes up. I'll just call back tomorrow.
 
This is unfair in the US. My friends in Australia and HK bought theirs in apple store already. My friend even saw a lady getting more than 3 mbp with retina.
 
Just called Willowbrook NJ again and asked if they'd have them soon (as in 1PM) and they said they got their shipment already and they only have the non-Retinas... ASJFAIODSJFLADSKJFLSJFOASJDFSO I SHOULD'VE ORDERED ONLINE.
 
When the WWDC was going on, it was midnight here in Malaysia so I woke up in the middle of the night to check on the news and saw that the shipping time was 7-10 business days, relieved, I went back to bed. Few hours later, I woke up to 2-3 weeks shipping time. So sad that I missed the 7-10 days window, I thought it would be there for some time :( well my bad. Hope you guys have had better luck and got the earlier slots.

Online orders, the very minute the store came up, said 5-7 days. You really think stores aren't going to have them way sooner than this? London store already got them today, Apple didn't simply send all their stock to the UK. Stores here are either going to have them today or tomorrow, which is way better than the earliest online orders.

But no one knows
 
When I stopped by at 10 today, there was only like 5 customers in the store. They said the retina would be in tomorrow, but who knows!
 
My prediction on the US in-store availability of the retina mbp, based on what has happened in the past:

They will first be available in store when the first online orders arrive at people's houses, + or - 1 day. The stores will only have a small amount and sell out quickly. Supply then will trickle in over the next few weeks.
 
Called 29th Street Mall store in Boulder, Colorado when they opened.

Person to answer my call told me no retinas today for sure... she seemed pretty annoyed like shes had the question all morning. lol
 
was told 'check back tomorrow'. I forgot to ask though if they give EPP or student discounts in store. My EPP discount was actually bigger than my student discount. I can wait an extra week to save the $250 or so though.
 
Oak Brook and Naperville stores in Chicago don't have them yet. They said they "might" be in their afternoon shipments, but I won't hold my breath.

this. Some people are getting their online orders on thursday even though it said 5-7 days, so that is probably when they will be in store.
 
I dropped by the store at Lenox Mall in Atlanta this morning around 10:30 AM and the guy told me they will "probably be in today, maybe tomorrow" and that they will "DEFINITELY be in this week". Not sure if they're just blowing smoke up my ass or not, but all three of the employees standing there concurred. So I'm hopeful.
 
CA Store has them - Corte Madera

I just called and they have both retina models. Waiting in line now.

from my experience, retail is the last to know and they probably won't know until they get there.
