3rd that too. Have the black on my white phone for a week---no peeling.

4th that. no peeling after a week.

I have the black on a white iphone and think it looks great!!! There is another thread about the incase slider in apple stores that has pics of this if you want to see what it looks like. But if an apple store is near you, just go check it out. If you decide you don't like it, you have the 14 days to return it. :D That is one of the great things about the apple stores. They let us have two week trials for accessories.

I ordered the black the first day it became available and I got the shipment notification within hours of placing the order. I would expect it to be pretty quick for $10 shipping though :(. I think there was some delay on the whites but I gather they have them in stock now.

Well, I wish you all the best, but this is what happened to my first gen matte black slider, and it appears it may be happening again. This was about 2 weeks or so if I remember correctly. Once air got up underneath and the spiderwebbing started it just started peeling off like crazy. Underneath looked to be like the regular shiny black slider. I was hoping they had fixed this, but I'm certainly not taking a chance again. I bought the leather griffin case and it is pretty good, little more slippery than I would prefer, but looks nice.

I had the black matte Slider for one day, and it's already starting to peel off.

And I can't get the damn case off. Thankfully found that thread which someone so cleverly use the headphones to force the case off.

So disappointed. Why can't companies test their products properly before releasing them?

If you like the Slider, go get the Elan Form instead. I prefer that over the Slider any day.

Mine slides off very easily, only a little pressure is needed.

I hope that only certain batches are affected or the peeling will be more localised than the original.

I don't like the Elan Form as the fake leather looks cheap and for me something that doesn't really suit the non-business under 40-something person. Though I may end up buying it unfortunately if this case starts peeling.

I would say that case above is defective and it sounds like you got unlucky with another. I see no spots of peeling after almost 2 weeks and I'm sure if the problem was on all cases we would see a lot more threads considering how popular this case was for the 1st phone.

Yeah, and the Griffin is not as nice as this case, I had it and switched it for this one. It's bigger and after a while the fake leather just started looking cheesy to me.

I also have no issues at all removing my phone.

I tried the Elan Form to hold me over until this case came out. If I hadn't been on lunch break, I would have turned around and immediately returned it after putting it on. The case was already peeling before I even put it on. You could tell that cheap pleather crap they put on it was going to easily come off.

This was just my experience, but that case isn't any less likely to peel then this one. I would say if you're worrying about peeling, the way to go would be the Slider glossy cases like the ones for the 1st gen (I think black is coming out soon).

First a number of people over a period of time had problems with the gen 1 matte coming off, so it likely wasn't just one batch. And, from what I've seen so far on the site there have been Gen 2 owners seeing it already on theirs. This would lead me to believe that Incase hasn't completely solved the problem. However, I'm sure how people use it makes a difference as well. I was in relatively hot conditions in Miami when I started seeing it, so ti could be heat related. If the case is not exposed to heat that much people may not see it as much. I don't know, but the fact that some are seeing it so early on their gen 2 Iphones makes me concerned.

I've been concerned about the pleather coming off of the Griffin too. I use it regularly in a horizontal hip pouch and so far so good. I wish it were a little more grippy. On my gen 1 Iphone I ended up with the shiny black Incase and it works well. I really liked the grip of the matte, but the shiny black wasn't too bad either surprisingly.

My personal decision is to avoid the Incase matte so that I don't have to deal with peeling again, and their less than stellar customer service department again. I'm going wait for the shiny black one to come out. I'll probably buy that one.

But good luck to all with the matte, it is a nice looking, not too bulky and very functional case.

Let me ask you this. Assume my case turns into a peeling mess, in theory could I just gently peel it all off and have a shiny case?

I mean it's a **** plastic case in the end, they all are overpriced junk made for pennies and sold for big bucks, but they protect the gem inside so that's what matters. But if I have this issue and just spent an hour making it a shiny case, it would be ok with me I guess.

It might take some time, but I bet you probably could. From what I could see it looked like the original shiny case underneath. There might be something different about it, but it didn't look any different to me.

I don't know if it would just peel right off like a sticker because it is bonded on-not just stuck on, but once it starts peeling you could possibly peel it all off by heating it up a bit or something--but of course I'm not condoning heating up your case! :)

Well I bought my Slider on ebay since it isn't out yet in the UK, so no chance for me exchanging the case.

It's been pretty cold here in the UK so the peeling off problem isn't due to heat. I've kept my case mostly in the pocket yesterday (was working most of the time). Think also the difficulties in taking the case off didn't help with the peeling off!

Oh well. I got my Vaja iVolution SP earlier today so guess I'll stick to that now. :p

talked to incase today

i have the white case she said that she would send me a new one free of charge because it was stuck and to just break it off if i could without damaging it... so everyone call... i just pulled it off with some pliers and it scuffed the chrome so they are also sending me a rubber case they are very helpful

Well I finally installed mine on the white case. It wasn't to tight at all. Very snug fit, which is what I want. The top portion that covers the chrome looks to be a tight fit also, helps keep the crud from working its way there. With a tight fit, there is less jiggling around for the bits of junk that get it to scratch up the chrome. The bottom portion that meets the top portion of the case is flush. No visible gap in the seam at all, looks to be very flush. All in all an "A" for this case.

Now all I need is a tiny Apple logo sticker to put on the back. :D

Now where can I find one of those.
