How much bigger will these phones get?

Reminds me of “Flight of the Conchords” camera-phone concept. ;)

Is there any pattern on the iphone pro model color every year? I want to skip iphone 15 pro because of the weird dark red color. I will consider iphone 16 pro if l find the color attractive, in addition to the larger display with periscope camera.

I really wish Apple could run customer surveys more often, asking people to prioritise what they want in an iPhone most (camera, battery life, screen size, notch, etc.). If they emailed their whole iPhone customer base, it would allow them to plan their new releases much better.

For me, already existing camera tech in a standard (non-Pro) iPhone since iPhone 12 is plenty and I would not like iPhones getting bigger and heavier just for the sake of housing this new camera setup.
Apple does the industry standard "customer survey" called "what sells one year is what we give you more of next year".

Jokes aside, since smartphone SoCs see so small improvements from year to year, I don't think there's a lot of things Apple can add to iPhones that are immediately noticeable (visually) other than increasing display size and improving cameras.

Apple has also done pretty much every iteration you can do with the slab/candy bar smartphone form factor. Perhaps increasing size is their new way of signaling change in an obvious way?

Cool, but I hope the image processing software doesn't ruin the pictures taken by the increasingly-impressive hardware. The hardware doesn't mean much if the software simply overrides anything the hardware captures.
Try the Nomo Raw app. I’m not sure how but it undoes a lot of the over sharpening that you get with the standard camera app.

I bought last years and every year before. Think I won’t skip this year and get next years too.

See, no one cares what I’m skipping or not. My leak (me) tells me you’ll either buy something or not.

But that’s just a rumor. 👊😎👍
Uhh… I care if you are skipping or not. The goal should be not to skip. The iPhone pre-order launch is on another level.

Why are there so many iPhone 16 rumor threads already when 15 isn't even out yet? Why stop there? Where are the rumors for 17, 18....?
Because the Apple iPhone Project Team is done working on the iPhone 15 lineup. They have moved on from the iPhone 15. Everything has been finalized and set in stone. In June the production assembly for the iPhone 15 should kick in.

At this moment Apple is working towards the iPhone 16. That's why we will be hearing more rumors, and reports in the upcoming months.

I think periscope comes with the 16 not the 15. USB-C and 3nm are the “big new things”.

So you think most people are printing their photos instead of posting on social media? There are many other uses for printers and things that get printed.

Most? What? I never said that.

However, people that purchase Canon/Epson/HP inkjet photo printers (as opposed to regular inkjet and laser printers) generally use them to print...photos.

The problem with overprocessing urgently needs to be heard more.

This has always baffled me as Apple has the money and the talent, don’t they hire the best of the best? Who is doing this to our photos? Why? Apple can afford to bring in the best minds in the camera industry from around the world, yet we keep getting these weird over edited pictures forced into us. A several year old dirt cheap android phone shouldn’t take better pictures than a brand new iPhone 14 pro and I hope not better than a 15 pro!

Maybe it’s time they partner up with someone and just farm it all out to them and Apple can focus on other stuff??

Due to a bigger size, It would be ideal if Under-Display Face-ID debuts with the iPhone 16 Pro lineup.

Honestly, if they are doing under-display Face ID and what not ( I still think that is years off), putting the camera so far down looks terrible. It doesn't save any screen space since content will still be blocked by the camera. If the camera was right under the ear piece, it would make sense since it wouldn't be so distracting when watching things full screen.
