Even larger sensors to be trashed by Apple Airheads that pushed airbrushed, HDR overprocessing.

I still haven't forgotten the horrendous way Apple monkeys with skin tones. We all rave about years of software updates, but apparently this is not fixable years later. Until this junk is fixed, I'll sit out iPhone "upgrades".

lol what a terrible post to say Pixel is better. iPhone's quality is leaps and bounds better here. You can fix white-balance, you can't really fix the quality of the camera itself.

I've got an iPhone 13 Pro... and I only use the camera in a pinch. The images it puts out are generally overprocessed junk. What's more, I don't want an iPhone any larger than what I have. Already, it's getting difficult to fit in in many pockets. But I know I'm the outlier. To most people, bigger is better. Looks like maybe a base iPhone 16 or even an SE if they update again before I buy.

Been using an iphone 11Pro and now a 14Pro for work — consisting of product videos, OK quality stills, etc. I like the convenience but if the phone in my pocket everyday gets larger and heavier than the 14Pro, I'll opt for a lesser phone and get a better dedicated camera.

Is anyone in a similar situation to me? Have a 13 Pro and will probably wait another year, maybe even 2, due to lack of innovation?

I used to love upgrading every 2 years but now it just seems pointless.

If this post was meant to say that the iPhone is the one airbrushing faces here, I don't think that's what your examples suggest.

I understand the sentiment of people saying “iPhone 16 rumors? What about iPhone 15?” But MacRumors just reports on the information that is provided to them. What are they supposed to do, withhold all the information they have on the iPhone 16 until the iPhone 15 releases? I would prefer they didn’t. These devices are planned years in advance. It makes sense that some things might leak even though it’s not for the most upcoming iPhone.

All these iPhone 16 reports. Is anyone that excited for the 15 now? It's like it's dead in the water! Apple should really just do really huge iPhone upgrades every 2 years. They should skip the 15.

To be honest, at this point they probably can, but it all comes down to money and generating profit for shareholders. Like Craig said in that WSJ interview, someone will want the best camera technology they can get to capture priceless memories. He also said, you are not obligated to upgrade every year or other year. My iPhone X came with iOS 11 and have gotten 5 subsequent software upgrades and hopefully one more plus security updates. That's gonna be almost 9 years of support and its taking astonishingly good photos to this day.

Is it too much to ask for a better sensor/lens for the ultrawide?
It would be an amazing lens to use if the quality wasn't awful...

Awful? What's wrong with it? I use mine a lot and don't see any problems - either image quality or focusing on my 14 Pro Max.

What Happened to the days of Apple making their devices smaller while innovating & making room for new components on the inside??? Now they have to make the device larger just to fit new components into it .
The physics of optics is a pretty big constraint. They have reduced the circuitry and the sensors significantly but the camera and battery are largely defined by physical limits. If they are putting in a telephoto lens that adds another factor on the camera size.

They tried it out with a mini and the public were not so happy, apart from a small minority, consisting of me and 3-4 other people I know.

Apparently, people wanted more size & weight per $/€, etc., just as with their food purchases. ;)
More like 3-4 Million but that isn’t enough for Apple’s product planners.

I'm going to max out my iPhone X support. iOS 17 is likely to be the last release for it, so, I will get one more year of OS support and another year of security updates which means, iPhone 17 Pro Max in fall 2025.
Wise guy.

IPHONE 15 HAS NOT COME OUT YET. AND WE ARE DISCUSSING DETAILS ON IPHONE 16 WHICH IS WELL OVER A YEAR AWAY.
ALOT COULD HAPPEN IN 1 YEAR.
