Installed: Speck CandyShell for iPhone 4

No problem. Yeah, that one looks pretty crazy. Like a hunk of rubber tire. I think you could safely bounce your phone with this thing on.

I was more hoping for that for the Touch.... I like it. Seems to have about the same protection of the Otterbox Armor while not being terribly ugly. It looks kinda thick, but other than that, I like it. Yes, it does look like a hunk of rubber tire formed to the iPhone 4.

They can come out with as many versions of the speck candyshell as they want, but as long as the rubber flakes i will still be disappointed.

Yep agree. I gave up my candy shell and now very happy with an Otterbox commuter.

This is my favorite:

I've got the Toughskin for my 3GS and it's alright. It'll definitely protect the phone, but I hate the little plastic frame that goes around the screen.

However, I really like the redesign for the iP4. I like how the inner frame is now a clip-on case and doesn't mess with edges of the screen (and potentially screw up a screen protector). I also like the design of the outside of the rubber case.

I don't think I'd use it as an everyday case (for that I use an Otterbox Commuter), but if you're going into a rough situation, that Toughskin looks like it would do the trick nicely!

The only store I know for a fact that carries the Moonsickle version is Microcenter.

I just picked up an Otterbox Defender from AT&T today and I'm going to bite the bullet and just exchange it for the Candyshell and deal with the flaking. It's the best case out, minus the flaking, and I don't have OCD at all so I can deal with it and I have other cases to use as well.

I agree but I had issues with the flaking. I tried the Otterbox commuter and like it as much.

The Candyshell is very nice looking, and very solid. The flaking and dock piece issues subtract from that.

hi all

i ordered on amazon my 2 Speck Candyshell for iPhone 4. I received them today and i have the flash opening issue.

Indeed, each time i take photos i have shadows on the sides of the pictures.

I contacted today the Speck customer service and they told me that my cases were fake !!

could you please help me and tell me what do you think about it ?

The flaking SUCKS. I wouldn't recommend the Speck Candyshell for the iP4 to anyone.

They made a great case for the 3GS, but Speck's obviously using some new crappy material for the rim around the screen...

I was excited to get the white Candy and it looked nice with my black iPhone... only for a while then the flaking.

I was told by Speck on facebook that the rubber mixture has been redone so it doesnt flake now... take it as you will:

I can tell that the back of the cover is dirty at the first use.
The rubber is crappy and you can easily scratch the back.
Don't try to wipe it, it will be worse !

The white doesn't show scratches. I might have to call Speck and ask about the most updated version.

I dont know how you doing it but the guy from customer service refuse my case exchange. I told him that the rubber is crappy, he asked me pictures, i sent it but he doesnt want to change my Candyshell.

Could you explain to me what's the problem ?

Ok so what is the best iPhone 4 case with rubber and hard plastic (to me most projective mix) ?

Dont talk about bulky ones please (otterbox survivor etc ...)
