Installed: Speck CandyShell for iPhone 4

Hopefully by the next Gen of iPhone they will decide to put a clear coat of something on the edges to keep the case from flaking. It would be by far the best case on the market.
Flash glare. It's that blue-tinted smokey, washed-out effect photos get when the flash reflects off a reflective surface close to it, *or*, and I'm assuming here, any material that sits raised and closely around the flash. I'm not even sure at this point whether it's even ok to have anything encircling the camera, either.
In any case, the effect is quite pronounced with my Incase Snap clear case, as well as with this Speck case (as we can see from the photos in this thread.)
I've not seen any flash glare problems with my Candyshell. I've only seen a bit of dimming of the flash in one side of the photo as I describe at 5:30 in my review at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQb-_t9JtYQ
Is that one the keyhole design? Those suffered from flashback especially the ones before they added a black trim in the opening.
Candyshell has had 3 versions:
1 - Keyhole same color as case.
2 - Keyhole with black insert.
3 - Pill shape with black insert.
Mine is a black Candyshell with #3.

I got a white revision 2 case when I ordered from Amazon last month. Not sure if they have revision 3's though.

Email the customer support and ask for a replacement, they are super good that way!
Originally bought my candy shell at the Att store. Didn't know Att has a one year warranty.
Was at Att store last night to see if they had anything new. The rep happened to see my flaking candy shell. I told him this is going to be my 2nd time with speck as a return. The Att rep told me 'do you know you get a 1 year warranty'? I said to him o thought it was 30 days. He said that's for getting your money back and the 1 year means you can exchange any accessory.
I told him I don't have my receipt with me. He said you don't need one I'll look it up.
He exchanged it no questions asked for another black candy shell.
So I'm really hoping this one works out as I really like this case and want it to work out.
On another note.... I've had only great experiences with Att's customer service. I think their customer service is top notch.

Hi just got the Otterbox commuter and this case in my opinion is thinner than the candy shell and in my opinion offers more protection.
I might sell my candy shell a brand new one. Anyone interested? $20 including shipping.

They are actually the same size. I have both as well and definitely prefer the otterbox though. Better case overall. I just wish they offered it in more colors.
Black. Got it last night as an exchange from the Att store. Used it less than a day.

aw man the closest micro center to me is like 40 miles away. has anyone else found this case (particularly a revision 3 in moonsicle white) at a B&M store? tomorrows the big day for me to get the ip4 so i want to get this case as soon as i can

Hi guys!
I just bought a Candyshell (palemoon grey, it's a looker!) and it started flaking within 24 hours too. I'm very careful with my stuff and all I did was to put the case in my jacket pocket. I have the newer candyshell with the pill/large cutout. Also, I noticed that the cut on my bottom left speaker is not "perfect", it has plastic threads and signs of bad machine cutting. Anyone have a similar problem? I live in Sweden, are there people in this thread that are from other countries and have gotten a replacement from Speck?

I don't need it as I already have one, but I'm looking to swap it for a white Candyshell (any revision - doesn't have to be absolutely brand new, as long as it's not damaged).
Oh - I'm in the UK, so preferably UK if poss.

i have been using my White CandyShell replacement for about 2 weeks now.
pencil eraser effect still happens. the rubber actually does seem of a different/stronger material but it just doesn't hold up to in/out pocket use. It just rubs right off and flakes.
Fine scratches galore but they go unseen on the white color. You have to look at it at the right angle/light to see them all. Otherwise it looks clean and new.
Buttons? Unresponsive. You really have to press hard to activate the sleep/wake and volume.
Overall flash issue is solved. I think.
Wish they fixed that rubber eraser problem. But I'm still going to use it as its the best for drop protection.

Those look amazing. I hope they make the same thing for the iPod Touch. I just might get one, as long as the dock piece doesn't break off as easily as the other one. Could you paste a link? I can't find it on the main page....
