video card is going to improve. standard 128 mb

battery life is longer

if you aren't doing any design works. you should get the ibook.

if you are doing design works, wait for another 5 - 7 month. Intel "powermac" is getting ready in SF bay area and Southern China.

Standard ram 1G...

that's all i can say.

I believe this will be the case...

And I see this as quite plausible as well. The MacBook Pros have 1 GB RAM standard, so the other Pro machines might as well too on a go forward basis.

And the timing sounds right too - initially I wasn't thinking we'd see the Intel PowerMacs until early 2007, but since the timeline for Conroe and Woodcrest have been moved up by Intel, and Jobs indicated all Macs would be Intel by the end of 06, I think late 2006 is more likely for a PowerMac release.

New iBook been there heard that, I thought it was coming out next tuesday anyway (how Ren and Stimpy);)

The following products I would like Apple to make:

iPorno - downloads free porn faster and with less ads/pop-ups.

iLaser - a product that instantly vaporises anything you shoot (I need it for work).

iFire - Fire just makes things better.

iPod (Russel Crowe Edition) - Packed full of Russel's best hits, (e.g. an empty iPod) plus it doesn't scratch when you throw it at people and blood wipes off with great ease.

iBooze - Alcohol, but with the Apple design twist, Drink Different.

I'm guessing 'new bluetooth mouse' means a bluetooth Mighty mouse.

'New webcam' means a new iSight for computers without built in iSight that is better in some way. (smaller, better resolution ???)

'Mac mini gone wild' obviouly means a Core Duo mac mini.

I can only guess as to what 'peroid' means...

chicken out?

Nope, just haven't read this thread again? All I'm saying is if you took, what 10 seconds, to make sure what you say makes sense, I might believe you.

I'm calling BS on this whole thread. These speculations are normal logic mixed with pure speculation. I'll believe it when I see it.

I have been reading MacRumors since I decided to buy a Mac; and I am throroughly enjoying it.

The people in Cuppertino must be be howling with laughter as they go through this site!

The minute by minute blow by blow description of shipping routes and customs clearance stories on the MBP 15" shipping threads are probably hot topics during coffee breaks.

I understand, I personally can't wait until they come out with the new iBook... I am really looking forward to a smaller 'real' MBP instead of a hobbled macIntel.

I wonder what kind of apple execs at apple are using now?

7100's with G3 upgrade cards. Steve told them they ok'd that NuBus crap and they were going to live with it. 9600's for the engineers, but they are only allowed to use the bottom set of PCI slots, for the same reason.

Or maybe Steve's not as vindictive as I imagine him to be.

Do we have any reason to not believe that this information is accurate? Sure he is a newbie but what does that mean? Im not sitting in here playing a DVD on my new Apple Plasma screen!

It is not supported by any of my sources. I was told explicitely that new low-end portables may be released in February, March or May but _most definitely_ not in April. Not a chance. Any time, but not April. And most definitely there will be no new product under the name "iBook" for the next few years; it will be called "MacBook" to differentiate from "MacBook Pro".
