Does the Mac Pro firmware update solves the issue with the Mac Pro + x1900XT + ACD 23" with Bootcamp?

Dear God I hope so.
It's normal for the fans to run on full power during the firmware update. I assume that's the noise you heard, right?anyone else get an insanely loud noise just before the instal?

yup thats what im talking about.Yeah I think I got the same ridiculously loud noise. I followed the instructions that said hold the power button down until the sleep light started flashing and then this huge "BEEP" came out of the laptop and I jumped backward.

was my reaction lol
I think we most likely held it down too long.
Hold down the power button until the power indicator light flashes, then release it. A long tone will be heard, then a gray screen with an Apple logo appears. There is a progress bar under the logo. As the progress bar moves, your firmware is being updated.
I'd be interested in a changelog for the Mac Pro update that's more in depth than just "This EFI Firmware Update fixes several Boot Camp and start up issues on Mac Pro computers."
I'm too chicken to install it, just like the SMC firmware update for the fans. I've had no problems at all with my MacBook (purchased in May) so I know it will screw something up. I know nobody cares but for some reason I wanted to post it.![]()
