fixes the wake-from-sleep problem??? just what ive been looking for. although i have gotten used to my work-around. instead of waking when opening the lid, you have to press a button to wake it. hmmm...

Hey, slightly OT, but does it make sense to anyone else that it should be possible to tell the laptops to shut down, then close the lid and not have them go to sleep halfway through the shutdown process?

yes. i agree. sucks. have to live with it i guess is what macs will say.

I was hoping this would fix the BootCamp/Apple Bluetooth Keyboard issue (you have to turn the keyboard off and on when first booting Windows for the keyboard to be recognized). Unfortunately, no luck.

I do not care how hot it gets as long as my Mac goes to sleep when I close it!!!

:)

Yep, that fixed that issue on my MBP, too. I can now close the lid and it goes to sleep. Amazing!

The apple store had ordered me a new top case, motherboard, and sleep sensor to try and fix this. I guess they can send all that back. :)

It is funny how little things bug me. The heat never has bothered me.

But the damn thing not doing to sleep, really made me upset.

My MacBook Pro is having horrible wake from sleep issues i.e. it woke up inside my backpack on more than one occasion. Nothing worse then an already hot notebook trapped inside a backpack surrounded by neoprene. (I double pack it for extra impact protection; and never realized how much heat could be trapped if something went wrong.)

If this isn't resolved now I'm going to have to continue to shut down before I take it to and from school.

It is not the end of the world, but it takes patience

Panic. I installed the firmware, the little bar was moving across the screen, and then halfway across -- the computer shut down. Now my screen is dead, I can't tell if the hard drive is functioning, my restore CD is 20 miles away, and I'm scared witless. WTF?!?!?!

Suggestions?

You have to burn the firmware CD with another mac computer (perhaps apple store guy can help). Then, you can boot from this CD, and the update of firmware will continue. GOOD LUCK.

Problem!

Problems!!!!

Aghh SO as soon as I downloaded it I got up on Bonjour (my mom just bought her MacBook) and I was going to show her the video chat through Bonjour, well after I connected to iChat it dissconnected me and her from Bonjour?? Anyone else having bonjour problems? It might be something else but seeing as it happened right after the update it makes me question...

I hate to say it but...

everything (yes, including safari) seems snappier. Yeah yea, I know an EFI update shouldn't affect other things but hey, I'm not complaining. And no, I'm not noticing a speed increase due to restarting the computer. I do that at least once a day (usually) to hop into windows for stuff. One quick question; my startup "dong" hasn't been happening for a couple of days. Any ideas on why?

I doubt it, but why don't you install the update and then let us know?

I can confirm it fixes this issue.

23" + X1900XT works fine with bootup ... i get the whole windows install... just partition problems now... i hate you bootcamp

ACK!!!!!

I think this update killed my firewire!!!!

My Mac Pro and my Macbook took the updates, my Macbook Pro C2D did not need it.

I tried backing up my Macbook to my Macbook Pro and Mac Pro via Target Mode, and now ALL THREE are NOT seeing ANY firewire device!!!

What Happened????
