This was exactly what I was thinking! But I did it anyway. 93 deg. F to 114 deg. F.
With all due respect, isn't that a firmware DOWNGRADE?

Does the Mac Pro firmware update solves the issue with the Mac Pro + x1900XT + ACD 23" with Bootcamp?

Hey, slightly OT, but does it make sense to anyone else that it should be possible to tell the laptops to shut down, then close the lid and not have them go to sleep halfway through the shutdown process?
I do not care how hot it gets as long as my Mac goes to sleep when I close it!!!

Yep, that fixed that issue on my MBP, too. I can now close the lid and it goes to sleep. Amazing!
The apple store had ordered me a new top case, motherboard, and sleep sensor to try and fix this. I guess they can send all that back.![]()
There is a club? Cool.
When can I expect my decoder ring in the mail?
Panic. I installed the firmware, the little bar was moving across the screen, and then halfway across -- the computer shut down. Now my screen is dead, I can't tell if the hard drive is functioning, my restore CD is 20 miles away, and I'm scared witless. WTF?!?!?!
Suggestions?

Cool, my friend said his computer had strange start up problems, this probably fixes them.
I doubt it, but why don't you install the update and then let us know?
