Oh wow this dual screen laptop is way cool... oh there a lot of finger prints all over the screens... is there a fingerprint resistant version?.... but wow those screens are cool! Wait... is it supposed to be this hot? it feels really hot.. all I did was open a web browser... wow... and those fans are really loud. are they suppose to be that loud? ooh and the battery is already down to 50%... Do I have to use windows to get all those games?

I almost feel sad for Intel. Apple started designing their own chips and divorced them. With AIM Alliance it was the opposite…Motorola and IBM basically stopped caring about personal computing, leaving Apple abandoned.

Now Intel can’t compete in design, manufacturing, video or consumer. Their only saving grace has been the global pandemic because the supply constraints allow them to sell everything they make, keeping them somewhat on equal footing with the competition.

They have definitely trimmed out any reference to the OS or any fan who stayed loyal to apple despite what they have presented to him.

They really went all out to fool these people by recreating an Apple Store design environment with furniture and decorations in the room they were in. Down to copying the new plants from Apple stores.

Chalk me up as another person who has no time or patience for full AAA games then. Currently playing the following games: Grimvalor on iPad, world of demons on Apple Arcade, slay the spire on iPad. Great for filling in small pockets of spare time here and there, especially useful for killing time during boring zoom meetings, and it doesn’t require me to sit down to set aside hours or tether me to a desk.
Thank for making the choice for us. And why apple will forever stay as a luxury thing and not a casual thing. You don’t play games to kill time( your life seems dull) you play games because the are fun

I also have a switch lite and while I have purchased a few games, it seems that something changed in between the years that I switched to a Mac and threw my entire library of windows games and I find that I no longer have the patience or the interest in them.
seems more that you didn’t lose interest or patience. But just access to them and was forced to change hobby
I think the market for desktop gaming is really overrated and overstated, and I think the main reason why it keeps getting brought up is because it’s something that Macs technically can’t do well, but then you look at the user base and realise it’s not something the majority need or miss.
The market is not overrated. Apples service revenue is dominated from mobile games.

consoles have sold 250~million since 2017.
apples total mac sales don’t even reach 100 million total units from 2009.

The only thing apple is growing is services. iOS sails are sloping as well as mac sales. Apple is becoming more and more a service.
Macs user base is a catch 22. No games equals no gaming interests.

(3) Customizing PC's ain't all its cracked up to be; with great freedom comes great responsibility (and hassles)
At least I can chose to do that. I want macOS and **** out of luck. But will build a hackintos so I can dual boot windows for gaming and windows for gaming.
(4) Commited Apple fans would not be confused about whether that equipment is Apple hardware.
Tell that to every “apple fan” on this site complaining leaks don’t feel like apple, untill apple released it. But to be fair no apple fan would believe apple will allow upgrade ability.
(5) Lit up PC? I hide my PC away, so I don't have to hear the fan or deal w/cooling system mess.
Same like having the Mac Pro as an art piece.
(6) PC world doesn't have Apple's amazing product integration. Computers work for me, not other way around.
That is a shame. If apple cared for gaming it would be the dominant market instead a rich man’s product or business only.
(7) There are games that are specific to Apple equipment too. Windows has 57,000 games, mostly similar & mediocre?
There is not a single Mac exclusive game. Only ports. Or “iOS” exclusives are kind of irrelevant. Console selling games like God of War, daemon souls, halo, gears of war etc. no such thing exist in the apple ecosystem.
(8) Let's face it, Apple equipment is more expensive, for a sweeter ride.
Nope, Apple equipment is more expensive, for an extremely boring ride.
Mac have become a beautiful workaholic and windows is ugly but for having fun and options

All my business laptop since, say, 2015 have been with touch screen enabled. I don't remember ever touching the screen. Biased (at least).

I truly am surprised Apple has not done a 2-in-1 where it runs OSX when docked with the keyboard, but can completely pull away and run iPad OS as a tablet.

I've never met a single person who has switched from PC to macOS who has looked back and yearned for Windows -- just people "under the spell" of Microsoft believing that they cannot switch or else they would be betraying some loyalty they've sworn to Windows.
Well we are a very big group. I sold my rMBP 2012 a few years back to replace it with a PC so I could play games without bootcamp and an iPad Pro . I regret buying the iPad instead of a MacBook Air considering how limited it is
It does not matter how interesting the hardware is for any of these PC's (and a touch keyboard is something I do not want on a laptop). It does not matter because the software and hardware are disjoint and there is no ecosystem to connect them.
who cares at all? Mac’s don’t have games. It’s a workstation exclusively. How far apple gave fallen as the casual guy instead of stick up their ass corporate overlords.
this is a dumb design tho.

Way back in 2009 my iMac, iPhone and AirPort worked well enough together to impress me. Today Apple's iPhones and macs and iPads and watches are all far more integrated and seamless. And today, Windows is still disjoint -- you have to run a Microsoft-skinned Android phone to integrate with a Surface laptop -- and you have to deal with Intel chips that cannot simultaneously achieve low power usage and high performance.
Shame it’s still more locked down. Less options less abilities. iOS and Mac work seamlessly tho. Just need to fix that game problem, upgradability of at least one Mac and I would return instantly
That commercial smells of the desperation of Intel trying to convince PC loyalists that they should not switch or else they will be "stupid" like these people who are under Apple's spell. Intel is completely desperate. It is so sad.
No need. Apple does that effectively with their butterfly keyboards. Anti repair mentality and hostility of making a Mac for the masses

It runs windows for a start. then it runs Intel Hardware.
Hackintosh for the rescue
They didn't exactly explain the "Upgrade" part. Ram and SSD?
Does it matter? Apple computers haven’t been able to upgrade ether for a long long time
SSD upgrades would be the only thing I would love to see. But 4k small screen by the keyboard. What for? I do Video Editing and none of what I saw made me want to switch because it was going to make my life better.

As a web developer, using a Windows10 company laptop (HP), and an Air (personal), I can honestly say that the biggest difference is the one that cannot be put on paper -- macs just work. On the MS side there are a ton of things that require constant fixing, or acceptance that it just wont work (examples: bluetooth headphones that require a daily trip to setting to re-pair, closing & opening the lid doesn't properly come of of sleep 2/10 times, and many more).

- Would I love some of the features shown? Sure.
- Is touch one of them? Heck no, I have it and never use it since it's more of a gimmick than a feature *for my particular use case*.
- Would I leave macOS to get the features? Not a chance, I like things to be limited to the feature set that works, instead of throwing in the kitchen sink but flooding the place in the process.

Did you buy a MacBook Pro for gaming!! well informed consumer. you are comparing laptops to desktops.
You are really special. What f-king desktop are we supposed to buy? iMac 16stuck with a GPU less powerful than a GTX 690(2014)
Or 3-4x less powerful than a 1080/2070/3060

A 1k$ Mac mini with a crappy intel iGPU?
Or a 6k$ Mac Pro
Get real man

Give it a few months and you will want to move back to macOS. Terrible optimisations and inconsistent UI on Windows. OEMs are going one direction and Windows is going the other direction, there is no intersection. This is coming from a long time Windows user that moved to macOS and never looked back!

I will take an iPad and a MacBook any day than a 2-in-1 combo that is heavy, cumbersome and not able to justify its purpose. Neither an iPad and nor a MacBook. All over the place.
I'm sorry, but I disagree with you. Windows is great. Only have had positive experiences with 7 and 10 and 11 looks amazing and works flawlessly…On my AMD laptop. My Intel HP sounds like it's about to blow up sometimes.
Not sure what these commercials had to do with Intel though. There are better AMD laptops about there.

They’re not wrong in that fanboy-ism will cause consumers, and especially a subset of Apple customers, to dismiss other brands out of sheer loyalty or perceived superiority of their ecosystem. But c’mon, Intel, this is a bad look for you.
I agree with you, but many people bash Apple products without even trying them out.

I have a hard time believing these are genuine reactions. Mainly because I can't believe that people are so woefully unaware of what's going on in tech outside of Apple.

Then again, a lot of PC/Windows/Android users are incredibly unaware of what's going on outside their preferred tech bubble so... maybe?

It's also preeeeeetty misleading.
"PCs can run all these games!" Yes - if you get a dedicated graphics card, enough RAM and a decent CPU.
"PCs are upgradable!" Yes - if you get specific models from specific manufacturers - or a PC you build yourself. I'd argue, though, that if you're so unaware of what's going on in the PC world, you probably won't be comfortable building one yourself.

The original Mac vs PC ads were somewhat misleading, too, but at least they were funny.

Main problem with Windows PC is software: it is not ready for Tablet, not for Phone. They are very beautiful but when you start using them you find a lot of drawbacks in using Windows as a tablet.

And there is a lie in the video: those shown PC aren't upgradeable as MACs aren't.

Intel makes chips. Apple makes an ecosystem and the devices to make it work. Does Intel really think they compare?
The commercial is great but falls flat once you realize that all of those "great" features will rely on you running Windows.

I truly am surprised Apple has not done a 2-in-1 where it runs OSX when docked with the keyboard, but can completely pull away and run iPad OS as a tablet.
that would actually be useful for business travel - and could probably be constructed without a lot of overhead
(given that there isn't that big a difference between an M1 MacBook and iPad).

At home I might prefer a dedicated iPad - but for business travel and integrated into a laptop - I would love this.
