International (EU, non-US) iPad 2 Shipping Dates, 1st "Prepared for Shipment" Status!

I'd find it even harder to wait if the accessories were there but the actual thing 's still missing

OT: I ordered a Limited Edition DODOcase for my iPad 2 on 3/9 and it shipped this past wednesday. Initially I was supposed to have today by 6 pm (it's now 8.30 pm in Finland) and obviously its not here

What I dont get is that how can one package arrive at FedEx's location and then depart three times? just how BIG is that place? Or are there several FedEx location points in Memphis?

Ordered my iPad 2 online 1hr after the Swiss Apple Store went live with 2 to 3 week delivery estimates. Received a confirmation mail 3hrs later with following dates:
Ships 15th of April
Delivery 21st of April
Always possible that the dates will be moved forward.

Well the dates have not yet changed, but today I was able to do an online reservation in the Swiss Apple Store for pickup tomorrow.
Guess I'll have to cancel the original online order, as I get to pick up my black iPad 2 G3 64GB model on Bahnhifsrasse tomorrow.

I ordered an iPad 2 in Switzerland at about 3am on March 25th... mailing estimate 15 April, delivery estimate 21 April.

The 11 day shipping to the Swedish poster above me is ridiculous. They must be walking it to Stockholm from wherever Apple's European shipment center is. I guess they're probably high-balling the delivery times so we're happy when they typically arrive sooner.

Congratulations! I tried this too in the same Apple Store (Bahnhofstrasse, right?), but there was no 16 GB WiFi-only unit available, so far

On the other hand: As long as there are no nice cases available, I don't want to have an unprotected iPad in my possession

I think that there just may be something wrong, Bushiboo. When I ordered on the 25th, Apple reserved the money from my card immediately and it still shows as reserved on my bank account. I didn't use 1 click.

Maybe you should contact Apple and ask them about this?

Yer. I don't believe that these daily deliveries to Apple Stores etc are coming from China. I honestly think its a game Apple Marketing are playing, dripping out stock from a central depot to keep "demand" high/publicity up.

If stock is coming in from China a bit at a time, how come my delivery date hasn't moved since ordering? Why should someone who lives close to an Apple Store be able to reserve overnight and walk in next day whereas the likes of me (order 12:30AM 25March) have to wait in line until the end of April? I'm cool with Apple having initial stock for retail, it's what's happened since then that grinds my gears.

Having said that, the ordering estimates could be completely screwed. Apparently, Apple estimate my iPad Camera Connection Kit is going to be delivered today! (no confirmation of shipping, no email, no nothing so I'm not holding my breath).

Yeah, don't hold your breath 'cos according to Apple I should have gotten my Apple Care Protection Plan for the iPad yesterday and I didn't. Apple hasn't send me any shipping confirmation email about this so...It's all one big delusion

Obviously Apple ships the ordered products at the same time, no matter what they claim otherwise (I just don't get why they claim that in the first place )

I ordered an iPad, dock, and smart cover on March 25. The estimates were April 15 ship and April 22 deliver for all 3 items. However my smart cover shipped on the 31st separately and arrived at my address in Canada yesterday. So they will ship items individually as they become available. Still no change for my iPad or dock shipping however.

Yeah I got the shipment notification an hour ago. The initial shipping date was 15/4 and delivers on 21/4. I placed the order shortly before the online launch 12am in QLD (1am in NSW on 25/3)
