Hey everyone, I have some what of an Update.

I just got off the phone with Apple (1-800-MY-APPLE) for CANADA

I was told that iphones in the USA are shipped first and delivered on the 14th because they do not have the option of purchasing an unlocked phone. This is why the USA is receiving their phones first.

As of right now, I'm starting to believe we will receive our phones after the 14th... but I sure hope I'm wrong!

Don't believe anything the call centre tells you. I was told the exact opposite and that the locked phones would have a delay over the unlocked. Then the next call I was told that ALL phones regardless of country, locked and unlocked will not ship until the 14th.

If you check the last page that person was also guaranteed that the phones would be here in Canada for delivery on the 14th.

At this point it's useless to worry. Best thing you can do is ask to be upgraded to Expedited.

What about shipping method in Canada? There was no option for expedited when I placed my order

I'm still on Standard Shipping, so he explicitly stated that my Standard shipped iPhone 4S would arrive on Friday.

Thanks for the info! greatly appreciated... do you know if upgrading will make a great difference? Is it safe to say that expedited shipping takes roughly 3 business days?

I honestly have no idea. With prior releases I bought my phones the day of instead of pre-ordering. I'd say that 3 days seems fair, maybe sooner depending on where the phone is in relation to you?

Interestingly, I have discovered that on the Aus and US stores, my order says "Processing - Ships: Ships by October 14th".

BUT

On the UK store, it says "Processing - Dispatched: Ships by October 14th".

So they must just use different terminology, but the people in the UK aren't any further ahead than the rest of us (apart from the USA anyway).

Mine is in Kentucky now, was in Alaska before that and China before that. Says the estimated delivery date is Friday- I'm in Seattle

Not sure why you're expecting to receive the phone on the 14th. Apple's promising to ship on that date. I'd expect to receive some days later.

The email I got from Apple said

"Dispatches in Ships by October 14th"

What deception. Apple hasn't deceived anyone. They never said people would get their phones by the 14th.

I beg to differ, the preorder screen in australia at least said 'Pre-Order Starting October 7 for delivery beginning October 14."

They HAVE to deliever some handsets into customers hands on friday for that statement to be true. I for one ordered based on having delivery on the 14th....

That's exactly what I saw in Canada as well, and the same reason why I ordered.

Same here. But I also had no other option because we don't have an Apple Store here, which I think we should. And I don't want to go on a plan with a Telco because I'm moving to Europe next year and only need an Australian sim for the next 8 months. If not Friday, I'm we will get it on Monday or Tuesday. For those who got in early at least.

Apple has made it very clear they will start dispatching on the 14th internationally. Nobody has a reason to complain. You won't be getting your phone on launch, but I'm sure most of you will receive them early next week. Enjoy.

US always gets priority in early production runs.

Ironically enough, if it was the US who was facing changes in their delivery dates and International orders had priority, this entire forum would be completely up in arms over it. Yet people expressing their frustration regarding the delivery date have kept it almost entirely in the "International Pre-Order Status Thread".

I really fail to see the point of you coming in here, the only thing you're going to do is cause more issues again. I could see your point if this was spread out in 30 different threads all over the forum, but it's not.

There is nothing wrong with expressing our frustration and discussing shipping dates. It gives us something to do while we wait. Even though most of us should be doing other more important things than frothing at the mouth over our delivery. We just can't help it. I don't know what to think anymore, but I get the feeling most Australian's will see it on Monday. But Apple, please pleasantly surprise us!

As the week as progressed, and after reading various posts, I have changed my thinking on our deliveries.

I still believe that we will receive our phones on launch day and am not concerned that we have not seen any change in Apple's online shipping progress. It is my opinion that ALL launch day phones are already in Australia, be them for Apple stores, telcos or pre-orders. I further believe that we will receive shipping notification very close to the actual delivery (night before) as the stock is already with TNT rather than China. I'm also willing to bet that any tracking info we do see will not mention China as with the USA orders...

This is certainly a possibility. I confirmed with Optus and Telstra that they will have iPhone 4S in stock ON the 14th, as will Apple's retail stores. There's no reason for them to get stock and sell them to people who didn't even preorder before us. I think it's very likely what you're saying is correct, and our phones will ship out from within Australia (in which case will only take one day to get to us).

I still think they're fooling around with us on the Order Page and the iPhones are already in the UK, Germany, Australia or wherever you are...

If you hover you mouse over the blue arrow, it says that Processing = waiting to be dispatched, and Shipped = dispatched!

However, we get "dispatched" in past tense here!

As I said, the Apple Stores are getting stock on the 14th so there must have been a shipment from China to all six countries. No reason not to fill in the preorders.
