As I said, the Apple Stores are getting stock on the 14th so there must have been a shipment from China to all six countries. No reason not to fill in the preorders.

Of course there have been international shipments already. They surely want to get as much of the initial stock to their retail stores and retail partners for Friday where the queues will be long. This is why I think Apple is being vague about expected delivery dates.

Pre-orders are already in the bag for Apple. So getting handsets to these customers will be less of a priority on launch day. They will want to serve as many customers waiting at retail outlets as possible on Friday. Just because some of these customers may not return at a later date to buy, if the phone is not in stock for them when the buzz and excitement has died down.

I still think they're fooling around with us on the Order Page and the iPhones are already in the UK, Germany, Australia or wherever you are...

If you hover you mouse over the blue arrow, it says that Processing = waiting to be dispatched, and Shipped = dispatched!

However, we get "dispatched" in past tense here!

I like your theory, but the only flaw is that I still don't think that these are sitting in boxes ready to be sent out just yet - based on the fact that if you can still change shipping details, then that part of the process has not yet commenced.

Also - yours is different to mine. Mine doesn't mentioned despatched anywhere. I've got:

iPhone 4S 16GB Black.
Ships: Ships by October 14th

your right pre orders are in the bag, next retail shops, customers, and plenty of publicity priority

logging into via the UK site...
my Canadian Order says

Dispatched: Ships by October 14th

in this context...... "Dispatched" really means the same as the Canadian site.. don't read too much into the wording folks... the orders will update when it updates...

I also agree, rather than shipping the orders one-by-one from Shenzhen to AUZ, it would be making more sense to ship a large stock to local first (ususally DB Shenker), and local DB Shenker to dispatch to local Apple store and pre-ordered customers.

So there's still hope to receive it on Friday.

You can still change the shipping details or cancel because if you cancel it, they're going to immediately send that iPhone 4S to the nearest retail store where it will be sold immediately. It's already in Australia so that's not hard at all. You can cancel it on Thursday night and they can still move your iPhone to a Retail store by Friday noon. Makes sense.

Also, if you log onto http://store.apple.com/uk with your Apple ID (yes, even if you bought it in the Australian store) I'm sure you'll see what I see.

Who's to say that they haven't already shipped to Apple's Australian warehouse, in bulk, for individual processing of shipments? This would explain the ability to still change orders and no change in the order status at this late stage. My guess is that we will see shipping confirmation late tomorrow for a Friday delivery...

All this speculation and the conflicting stories are getting ridiculous! Hey, maybe the 4S is really a decoy and we are all going to receive iPhone 5's which will have a 4.5" screen, 20 megapixel camera, will be 2mm thin and come with 320gb on board???!!!

Dispatched: Ships by October 14th....

Ugghhhh.

*refreshes order status screen*

only thing that worries me is I live in the north east of UK and i believe the distribution Apple center is all the way down south, which means im about 6 - 7 hour drive away from the phones!

I dont think i'll be getting it on friday, and i've taken the day off work to wait in for it!

shipping method

Regarding shipping method does every one have fast ship EMEA ? What does this mean

..if we are gonna get them this week, i think the shipping status has to change tonight to at least "prepared for shipment"

I hope we see some change today!

All we can do is wait...but we love to speculate.

I also have "Fast Ship (EMEA)" - No idea what this means.

EMEA means it's headed for Europe, Midlle East or Africa.
"Fast Ship" doesn't seem particularly fast to me, though - I ordered mine on Friday shortly after the store went back up and it's still processing...
Headed for Germany btw

I've not once said that they're not in Australia yet!

I can't believe how much people are reading things into this and summising on information that is not verified or accurate!

You're right - logging into the UK store shows what you said it would.

At the end of the day, Apple isn't doing anything to upset people who have requested pre-orders. We will all get our phones, we just need to be patient.

Take a deep breath everyone :)

UK "Dispatched" changed to "Ships"

Morning all

This morning i logged onto Apple UK site to check my order progress.

The day i ordered it read:

Processing Items Dispatched: Ships by October 14th

It now reads:

Processing Items Ships: Ships by October 14th

...hmm!

I just received a SMS from my bank that the iPhone order's amount has been charged from my CC formally. I believe that will dispatch the 4S's very soon. :)
