Got my email about an hour ago, and it's telling me it should be delivered by the 19th. What's the point in pre-ordering? I will just go down to one of the telco stores tomorrow and get one. I shall be offering Apple some of my frustration about pre-orders. If the UK can get them on time, surely we can in Australia.
I'm happy to be proved wrong, but I don't see the point in offering pre-orders if you can get one a week earlier walking into Telstra, Virgin, Optus etc.

We can get pumped up over small things, trust me.... hahahahaa.. I will be extremely happy if this turns out the same for us in Aus, i am taking the day off so i don't want to have to take another off just because no one else will be here to sign for it and i really don't want it to go back to the TNT warehouse.
In Sydney (Aus), ordered within minutes of the preorder page finally going live on the Australian store, and I've got listed delivery of 26 October...! White 64gb. Given that there wasn't much of a line at the George St Apple Store when I cruised by today, I should have just bought one in-store tomorrow...
I wonder if it's because we're 24 hours ahead? Apple specifically staged the preorder opening so that we were all on the same dated day (ie: 6pm in Aus, EST, rather than midnight or 8/9am). Although other posters have said that these delayed deliveries haven't happened with previous preorders...?
They probably won't open preorders again in the future so they can have large lines running out of the retail stores like the iPhone 4...
oh, well, no new toy this weekend!

I'm in Canada and my UPS track doesn't have a scheduled date of arrival yet. But like everyone else's my Apple notification says the 19th. I'm in Guelph Ontario.
Canada - My UPS tracker updated to 12pm, Monday delivery. Apple email did say 19th, though. Shipment is in HK right now.
This gives you a reason to queue outside the store I suppose...

Looks like the West Coast guys in Canada are going to get theirs on launch day. Looks like Ontario will be next week.

My status changed from processing to preparing for shipment overnight.
I am 99% confident that we will get our iPhones delivered tomorrow as long as the original confirmation of the order said "Ships by October 14" and not a later date
