Yeah. This site does NOT need to become Apple Insider II. I gave up on that site due to their endless “deals” posts, intrusive videos, and selective refusal to wrangle certain hostile jerks in the comments.
I just went to their site to see what it looks like these days and Oi is it a hot mess. They have 90 articles on the home page with 13 pushed in your face without scrolling. There are two ads on the home page before you start scrolling which take up 1/3rd of the screen. My tracker extension identified 69 items.

Huh. I’ve been using an ad blocker for years. I guess it’s even worse than I knew.

Will have to give it a listen and add it to circulation.

Hoping it is more discussion based, and not just bare news. Most of my favorite Apple related podcasts have discussions and guests (MacBreak Weekly for instance).
+1 for that.

Round table discussions are the best! :)

How can you rate it a perfect rating already ? That’s premature and just blind loyalty, do it after listening to a few then make a judgment
I agree. Not saying that this Podcast is bad, but wildly inflating or deflating a rating doesn’t do anyone any good, information wise. If it’s good say so in the comments, and if it falls down somewhere then say that as well. No service is really going to be perfect, and you know some people will automatically give it one star without ever listening. Listen for a while before rating.

Please keep them short. I don’t have an hour and a half to listen to talking heads.
Keep them as long (or short) as necessary. If there isn’t really a lot of facts about a subject then unless they really have inside information keep it short, and refer people to the online site (this one) for posts that generate more speculation than information.

I do not get any money from MR, but if want to know something about a rumor around Apple I am just having a look here. I live in Europe. I do not believe in everything I hear or see. But "as seen on Macrumors" was seen by myself quite often lately in established local Newspapers. So - there must be others using MR as reliable source of information...

Besides that: I really do like the forum here. I discover interesting questions and quite often answers to my own questions, I do not find elsewhere. :)

So: Go
Note: I generally like reading things...

53 minutes. I’ll wait for the 6 min synopsis version.
Exactly. I think the MR crew is seriously underestimating the value in starting a bath, lighting a few candles, putting on a six minute podcast, and just relaxing for 30 seconds before draining the quarter-full bath and blowing out the candles in time for the podcast to finish.

Looking forward to them but hopefully there won't be any "DEALS" content. Really despise those.
Because the fast forward or skip buttons on your podcast player don’t work? ?

But I agree “deals” content is not interesting to me.

I noticed this too. MR started showing up in Linus Tech Tips sister channel, TechLinked. I can't tell if it's because they now have more employees who use Apple products, or if there is a business relationship. It adds credibility to MR to be cited but at the same time, it feels weird. I would tune in for a MR financial breakdown podcast episode. Linus does one once a year as a way to stay open and honest with his subscribers.

TOTALLY agree

It's incredible how many podcasts I used to listen to, that I stopped following, for just this reason.

It should be an extreme outlier situation to have podcast shows that are more than about 90 minutes. Almost anything longer than that should be edited down and/or more organized and focused to begin with.

I'm not going to sit around and listen to rando tech folks just pontificate and pull crap out of their back side for 2 hours.

On this note. Cutting John Gruber out of my life has been such a net win.

That guy is the KING of navel gazing.

I do give him credit for calling his show "The Talk Show". It's a perfect description of his overly long sessions of too much breathing and wandering about laughing at things that aren't really that funny or interesting.

Should have called it "Super Secret Apple Rumors"

That’s GarageBand right? Can I still do that on GarageBand? Maybe I’ll give it a try and see if I can make a podcast too. I’ve always wanted to have a radio show, but with copyrighted music, which sadly is not within my reach.

By the way, thanks for such a cool clip from Steve, I didn’t know it.
