About 50 minutes in:

I feel their pain about the confusion about the place in the world for the iPad. It's much easier to give a list of things that the iPad is not than it is to give a list of things that the iPad is.

For my own part, I have no use for an iPad so long as it lacks the ability to run software other than from the app store.

1. I like your shiny new 3d logo. May the flat, analogous gradient graphic trend die a well rendered, multidimensional death.

2. Looking forward to hearing content rather than reading & getting caught commenting in the peanut gallery trap.

Good idea.

Because the fast forward or skip buttons on your podcast player don’t work? 😉

But I agree “deals” content is not interesting to me.
Yeah. This site does NOT need to become Apple Insider II. I gave up on that site due to their endless “deals” posts, intrusive videos, and selective refusal to wrangle certain hostile jerks in the comments.
To ease concern, “deals” is not a segment we plan to add to the show in the traditionally sense (product deals) as of now. We will have sponsors and ads, though, as it helps support the show.

"discuss about rumors" is exactly what the comments section is, and here you are reading, and commenting on, others' comments.
?‍♂️ I specifically stated that I'm not intersted in "listening" to people discuss rumors.

I can read faster than people talk. I can also (and often do) skip over reading some comments. Not as easy to do when listening.

Invite our forum members and talk about their creative dream apple device ideas. There you go, an easy entertaining 10-hour-long content for ya.

This is pretty much word for word a description of Macrumors.
I guess I’m not seeing the intrusive videos due to content blocking?

EDIT: I find the “modern web” to be largely intolerable without content blocking (and even then). Advertising has been escalating a kind of virtual warfare against everyone’s eyes, ears, and time for decades. It needs to be curtailed dramatically. Any complaints of “lost revenue” due to content blockers is entirely about self-inflicted harm.

So a podcast that covers what's already been posted here (and elsewhere)?

If I was really interested in the latest news and rumors, I'd rather read it. I'll be able to read and skim through them in less time than listening to a (hour long?) podcast.
Cool, that's how you consume it.

Other people consume it differently. Some people still have long commutes or sit at a desk all time remotely who can't skim through this website. It's like you're offended there is a podcast.

? I was merely stating my opinion about something that only applies to me. I wasn't trashing the podcast or the people who'd enjoy listening to it.

It seems like you got offended by my comment about what I prefer.

Exactly. I think the MR crew is seriously underestimating the value in starting a bath, lighting a few candles, putting on a six minute podcast, and just relaxing for 30 seconds before draining the quarter-full bath and blowing out the candles in time for the podcast to finish.
The podcast industry is on fire, so there must be a market for it. I'm surprised it took MR this long to put out a podcast.

Good first podcast. I liked hearing the reasoning behind why rumors may be wrong. I wonder about the longevity of the podcast. Maybe more in depth analysis of the current state of Apple could help. I do like the comments about why Apple is making the M1 iPad more powerful if they're going to keep the device fundamentally the same... those were my complaints after spending $ on a maxed out iPad Pro.

Looking forward to them but hopefully there won't be any "DEALS" content. Really despise those.
Seems a little unrealistic to expect zero sponsorships or promotions when you aren't paying for anything. There are bills regardless if you love your job or not, so most people aren't willing to work for free. Not that I enjoy ads. At all. But I know they will make their way in some way or another and I don't want to be forced to pay to consume the content.

I really hope this isn’t going to be talk about what’s on Apple TV plus and other silly stories that make the front page here

I don't mind ads in the forms of ads, I hate them when ads come disguised as content.

*sigh* Can Siri be any more useless on the HomePod mini?
"Hey Siri, play The MacRumors Show Podcast" or
"...,play podcast The MacRumors Show"
"...play Mac Rumors show"

nope
Siri gives me, "Ok, playing Apple podcast." and plays anything but the one asked for. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Make sure to cover some PPC/68k vintage Apple stuff please!
It would be cool to revisit MacRumors' coverage of product launches ten years ago.
