No, I think Apple's decision to remove the gun is appropriate, since guns are killing machines and kids use iPhones. You're equating having men and women represented equally with having a killing machine represented equally. Which is just odd.

No, I'm equating inclusion with inclusion. In reality, it'd be easier to argue that these extra men/woman emoji were omitted, while the gun (which was already there), was excluded. One is potentially omission, the other is definitely commission. Worst part is, because emoji is a standard and everyone else in the world interprets "gun" as a real gun, when you send your new friendly water gun to someone outside iOS, it'll look like a real gun to them. This is not good for the standard or communication in general.

You "hate" that they have races? You must get really upset that blacks and whites can get hitched outside of your cell phone then.
It is not that. It is the fact that they are over complicating things. We do not need to have emojis of every gender or of every race. We can make then neutral. That yellow color was perfect.

I don't really "get" emoji. I can rarely see what they are, and finding the right one seems so tedious. Apple had an answer for both of those issues with iOS 10. But I still don't get the popularity. The smiley face was an organic thing and it makes sense. To use linguistic terms, the smiley face was a natural language and these new emoji are an artificial language. Artificial languages, save maybe Klingon, don't normally catch on. But this seems to be (I guess? )which is interesting.

Isn't it more sexist to assume the person with the long hair is a woman and the short hair is a man? Or that pink is for women and blue is for men? Apple should just give up and make every emojii look like this.

The Human Being just gets creepier and creepier...

Still discriminating against guys with beards. Why can't there be an emoji with a beard other than Santa Clause? Even creepy mustache guy gets his own emoji. #BeardEmojiMatter

Looks like you are not the target audience for those. My much younger coworkers love emojis. They text all day long. They would never ever think about using the phone for an actual phone call. So I can see this being a very welcome upgrade for a lot of young people.

Sad to see where the world is coming to: people sending each other the same meaningless crap all day long, yet they are still convinced they are actually communicating. Totally brain dead.
