Why can't we have 1 unified notification centre? Instead of this 2 panel thing. Too much swiping back and fourth.

Also control centre is becoming a mess, it needs cleaning up.

Anyways, we should be able to customise all this stuff, at least let us change system themes. Dark etc.

I wouldn't mind the swiping so much if there wasn't a delay after each swipe/tap where it ignored the next swipe/tap, causing you to have to repeat the motion once it's paying attention.

This so much!!!

It's like they are trying to include everything in there, noooo, it should be quick and easy access for most common tasks, not another settings app.
Hmm, no problem giving us a second page, I like it, swipe up and left is still faster, especially not having to unlock the device, HOWEVER, at that point you should REALLY let people move things around and activate/deactivate stuff.

Reduce motion still must be off for the new iMessage effects to work. They worked fine on public beta 2 with reduce motion on. Hope they change that.

Sounds like they did change that, basically to follow that reduce motion setting.

This one trips me up all the time:

On the lock screen > Swipe down for Notifications > Swipe left for Widgets
On the home screen > Swipe down for Notifications > Swipe left for.... Nope!

I really hate the fact that there's a separate page for music on the control center...

I really don't use much on control center (except music control). So just swipe over to the music page and leave it there. It will always come up to whatever you were last using.

Its swipe left to right for widgets on lock screen and the exact same for home screen. Not sure what you're doing. I use them in both places all the time now.

SWIFT PLAYGROUNDS DOES NOT HAVE NEW CONTENT!!!

Just FYI, the part about Swift Playgrounds having new content is inaccurate. I spent 3 weeks of my holiday and went through ALL of part 1. I was so excited when part 2 was released today... but it turns out that they just split up part 1 into two parts. It's the EXACT SAME CONTENT that they had before.

Boo!!!!

I actually really liked iOS 5/6's Notification Center with the widgets in the same dropdown.

(not my image)
It was easier to see weather at the same time as seeing unread texts or emails, plus it gave us the ability to tweet or post to Facebook right from there! Still amazed that Twitter hasn't given us that option with the newer widgets, especially since it's still on OS X/macOS...
Widgets in iOS 8+ are not allowed to access the keyboard, so it would a violation of the App Store guidelines if we ever got an app which allowed us to type out a message from the notifications shade (even Pcalc got into trouble for a while for allowing you to do calculations via the widget).

That layout made sense in iOS 6 when there were only 1-2 widgets to juggle. Today, a user can easily have 8-9 widgets on his notifications shade. Imagine having to scroll past all that just to view your notifications. Past a certain point, it's just cleaner to give notifications their own tab.

Thats beta for you. I don't like how the keyboard clicks volume went up on this build... its funny watching everything evolve through the process. I try to send feedback on every build.

I get my left and right mixed up - I meant move to the left. And yes, it works in the new version. Now, without making feel too paranoid, can you tell me if this worked previously, because I'm certain it didn't.

I've noticed a large improvement on speed and how fluid it's gotten back to. I would even say it's just like ios9. I'm quite impressed actually.

I'm on a 6s 64gb

I'm quite happy that performance on a 6+ didn't go to bloody hell. I would be hard pressed to spot any performance differences between iOS 9 and 10. I can live with this for another year.

And even now, Apple still cannot add a "love"/"dislike" button or something similar to that into that Music control page, while in iOS 9, they can magically add it without problem. Weird.

I don't know how I feel about that. I don't remember those buttons being there TBH. Maybe Apple wanted to focus on quick actions only, not more complex options?

Only beta 4 shows as available. Beta 4 also seems to completely screw up Swift Playground. The 3D world representation doesn't show up and when trying to run a code a new screen pops up with all sorts of errors. That's a shame. I'm so hooked, I was looking forward to finishing up some more chapters today.

How did you guys manage to get beta 5?

I would be fine with it if different gestures summon different Control Center page. For instance, slide up from the left bottom for first Control Center page, bottom middle for music and audio, and bottom right for HomeKit devices.

Developer beta 5 is the beta they mention. This one is technically the same one as public beta 4.
I admit such "shortcuts " are a bit confusing in Certain cases though.

Then why they say "this is tailored for Apple Music"? In iOS 9 there WAS a button for quickly love a song. And now in iOS 10 it is gone. Apple is contradicting what he says in WWDC. This reminds me Donald Trump.

Honestly, I tired of trying to think of what Apple will do lol. Complaining may work. Write a bug and see what happens.

Don't worry. You're correct that in Beta 1, and at some point up until Beta 4, you could not reach the widgets page from Notification Center, when accessing it from a Home screen.

The output button on desktop iTunes is still a pair headphones. Unlike Apple to be inconsistent with symbols, unless they'll update iTunes later.

Anyone else having issues with iMessage notifications? They dont make an appearance on my watch, and they don't make sound or vibrate when my phone is off.

The sound of a door closing when locking your phone......wouldn't that be the audio equivalent to skeuomorphism?
