Hmmm... not looking forward to the Music controls being on a separate page in Control Center. This seems less intuitive to me, at least without personally experiencing it that is.
Well, it can be disabled.Lock sound is machine gun like. :-(
No sound is required when locking phone.
JavaScript? It seems they've finally fixed the backspace bug in Java for Safari.
That's obvious. Everyone knows the sound can be disabled. The question is why a lock sound even needs to be there in the first place?Well, it can be disabled.
JavaScript?
Well, realistically speaking, whether or not there's a "good" reason for it, it seems that a lot of people make use of it (for whatever reason) which makes it worthwhile to have it as an option. That's obvious. The physical sleep wake button makes its own clicking noise when it is pressed. Having an additional software sound for the button is redundant. That's all I'm saying. Its old school and skeumorphic, the lock sound should have been removed completely back in iOS 7. Changing its sound profile IN iOS 10 suggests there is a general uneasiness about it being in iOS.Well, realistically speaking, whether or not there's a "good" reason for it, it seems that a lot of people make use of it (for whatever reason) which makes it worthwhile to have it as an option.
Changing sound means there's general uneasiness about it? Is that like changing the design of some icons or UI of some apps means there's general uneasiness about those apps being there at all?The physical sleep wake button makes its own clicking noise when it is pressed. The output button on desktop iTunes is still a pair headphones. Unlike Apple to be inconsistent with symbols, unless they'll update iTunes later.
Not sure if it has been called out, but I noticed beta 5 allows you to search text in safari.
Apple today released new versions of iOS 10 to both developers and public beta testers, and as with any major beta update, there are several small changes and tweaks that have been implemented as Apple works to refine the operating system ahead of its release this fall.
Today's update, available as an over-the-air download for those who installed the first four betas or the beta configuration profile, features a new Lock screen sound, tweaks to the Control Center and widgets screen, and more.
We've rounded up some of the biggest changes in beta five in the video below, so make sure to check it out to get a quick look at what's changed. We're also listing all of the changes in the post below.
Smart Battery Case - The iPhone 6 and 6s should now work properly with Apple's Smart Battery Case. According to the iOS 10 release notes, the case will no longer cause devices to panic.Subscribe to the MacRumors YouTube channel for more videos.
Photos - Apple plans to reprocess facial recognition data in beta 5, so all named, favorited, and merged face data will be reset.
Lock sound - There's a new sound when locking the iPhone. It sounds like a door closing.
New Output icon - The output icon seen in the Control Center, the Music app, and other locations in iOS has been slightly tweaked. It is no longer represented by headphones and instead resembles a triangle with sound waves.

Settings - The "Home" section in the Settings app has been removed on the iPhone, as it served no purpose, but it remains available on the iPad.
Widgets - The new widgets panel, accessible by swiping to the right, now displays the date on all devices.

Open a site in safari > click share button > Select find on page :: lets you search text.
I vote with you, get rid of it. The button itself makes click noise.Don't get a "machine gun" vibe. Maybe closing a small cupboard door. Unless you meant the OLD sound. Either way its kinda MEH. They should either get rid of it and maybe replace it with a vibrate, or leave it alone. The new sound is nearly inaudible compared to the old click sound.

You could always search in page. This just may be a new way to do it. Previously you type a word into the search bar, thens croll past all the site and search suggestions and find the section On This Page... and tap the word there. It would then highlight the hits within a page.
Apple Seeds Fifth Beta of iOS 10 to Developers [Update: Also Available for Public Beta Testers]Did macrumors forget to tell that "Public" beta 4 is already available to download?
This triggers my OCD symptoms...

As pointed out in a reply that followed that post, searching on a page has been available straight from the address/search bar for quite a while now.Not intuitive - Why do you have to "share" to perform a search?
And people took the piss out of microsoft - having to "Start" in order to shutdown....
Apple UI standards are falling like Jonny's british teeth are rotting and falling out...

Potentially another application of it? Or something else behind it.I know it has, so why the unintuitive duplication?
Up, Up, Down, Down, Shake iphone Left, Right, Left, Right. Yes! Music successfully paused
Or perhaps it's not supposed to be anything related to a door, and just a sound. The new lock sound is consistent with the new water gun emoji. We've gone from skeuomorphism to pseudomorphism (or maybe metapseudomorphism). Instead of trying to pretend to represent real life objects, Apple is simulating real life objects that are themselves imitations of representative objects.
The emoji changes didn't bother me (and if I used emoji, I'd probably have more use for a water gun symbol than real gun symbol). The new locking sound sounds like wet socks hitting a board to me. I can imagine a door, but it doesn't sound like any door I can recall using. As someone above said, maybe a door on a Mattel playhouse.
