Yep. iPad Pro 9.7 in restore mode. Doing a clean install on my Macbook right now.

Don't freak out and erase all of your stuff if you don't have it backed up. All you have to do is plug your device to your computer and do a wired update. Make sure you update your iTunes to the latest version and let the firmware completely download.

We bricked 2 of our devices (iPhone 6S and iPad Pro 12.9") and completely let everything download and it unbricked our devices.

Just let everything download properly.

Hmmm I never heard of anyone running the Dev preview having these issues. It's either an iOS 9.x → 10 issue or Apple is sending out corrupt updates because of the excess load on the servers (that should get caught when it verifies the update integrity but who knows).
I run a beta on my iPad Mini 2 and updated it to 10.0 GM OTA yesterday without any problems, so I trusted the update for my iPhone SE...

I've updated 2 iPhones so far (both 6) and one 6S without any issues. I have also downloaded the new Watch OS and am enjoying everything. Odd that some folks have problems... -- and now I know of 3 people who've done their updates OTA and no problems here.

AppleInsider has spoken with Apple regarding the matter and was told that support personnel were already looking into the problem. We were told that the problem may be related to a timed-out download as a result of ISP issues in conjunction with Apple software distribution system loads.

there you go... probably not a software issue.
You mean they didn't just throw up a post and stir the pot BEFORE they talked to Apple?!?! How dare they!!! /s

And the fact that it didn't happen on the GM was suspicious to me, so if it does end up being non software, I'm going to laugh, since many here were pronouncing the death of Apple.

My 6s was bricked. Did a software update via iTunes and it worked perfect. Seems like OTA iPhone software is corrupt. My iPad mini OTA update worked perfect.

Mine went swimmingly. I doubt this is actually happening and if it is then it is likely your own fault. Hold it correctly and don't keep it in your back pocket..

That explanation makes no sense. Every software download is verified for its completeness for security reasons. If the download fails this exceedingly simple check, no installation should take place. Unless of course they somehow broke the checksum logic...

So the device Apple spends millions on advertising as the only computer you'll ever need, iPad Pro, won't in fact work at all without a 'real' computer thanks to Apples usual s**t poor iOS quality control.

Think I'll wait before updating my 'Pros', change your perception of what a computer is indeed Apple...
This made my day :D

mine too.. ridiculous 6s Plus
Copied this from another user in the other thread:

NOTES
What's happening?
The OTA update version might be corrupted. The update will download completely, verify prior to install, go into the Apple update screen, then crash into the "Plug into iTunes" screen. The update bar went as far as about 75% - 80%.

Who is affected?
So far, only iPad Pros, iPhone 6S / S+ and iPhone SEs have complained of corrupt installs. All of those who have complained used OTA updates, so it may affect more.

What do I do?
1.) DO NOT USE OTA UPDATES - it's the most common culprit in the bunch. Avoid it like the plague.
2.) IF YOU ARE UPDATING, USE USB + iTUNES. Those who have been successful have used the iTunes download. Slower, but working.
3.) IF YOU ARE BRICKED - Plug into iTunes and use "Update" to clear out your problem. You don't need to do a full restore, thankfully. I've done a simple update and everything worked swimmingly.

Boom. Bricked my 6S Plus OTA. Had to do complete restore. And like a sucker this is the one time I didn't backup to the Mac so now I have to wait forever for the iCloud restore.

But, I had to use the new iTunes to update my iPad, and when I installed the new iTunes, it can no longer connect to my iCloud Music Library.

Bad job Apple.

I've downloaded it OTA on my iPad Air 2 but I don't want to install it now. When it asked if I wanted to instal I clicked on later. Is there anyway that I can permanently prevent it from installing?

I was able to save my iPad Pro 9.7 by deleting the download file.
My iPhone 6s was bricked.
