I have had zero issues here today, updated my iPhone 6 Plus OTA, and both Apple tv's in the house today without any issue. My iPad is completing now.

For those on the beta GM build - I don't want to deal with hassle of restoring. If I delete the beta profile - will the next official iOS update be available as an OTA download?

Updated my 6S+ 128gb over the air a few days back via the beta profile. Updated straight from 9.3.5 to 10.0.1 without any issues. Did the same for the 6+ as well, no issues.

Had the problem with iPhone SE. Updated to the latest iTunes version (Mac 12.5.1.21), and the strange thing is that it's downloading iOS 10.0.1(!) now. I hope that it contains a fix for this problem :)

iOS 10.0.1 (Build number 14A403) is the official golden master release that has been available since last week for developers and public beta testers, so no special fixes there.

Shezus...so much snark.

I've never had an update go sideways (since the iPhone roll-out), so not sure where the "it's been sucking a lot lately" comes from, but then, I don't go pulling the trigger the first day they post either.

I bet you buy Rev A too, eh?

Could it be a server issue with corrupted/incomplete data being transferred?

Probably, however do they not handle these updates through their servers / CDN these days? They should have had better forecasting for number of devices accessing the servers by the time of the day etc. Or at least have contingencies in place to display people time-out message prior updating - i.e. updating only certain devices, this is a massive fail no matter what.

On iPad Mini 4 I try to upgrade to iOS 10, I wait 18 minutes while upgrade download, then iPad goes into recovery mode, plug into iTunes and I wait for another download, and I end up back in iOS 9. Infinite loop. Tried four times.

No problem with iPhone 6s plus.

My iPad mini 4 or iPhone 6s won't get any update today, that's for sure. My 4S definitely won't get any, but it's basically part of my Apple "museum collection" now anyway. :D

I've downloaded it OTA on my iPad Air 2 but I don't want to install it now. When it asked if I wanted to instal I clicked on later. Is there anyway that I can permanently prevent it from installing?
Yeah, go to manage storage and you should see the update. Hit edit and then delete it

Edit: Settings>General>Storage & iCloud Usage>Manage Storage (Storage)

Oh really? So the idea that the only people coming to macrumors to complain are the ones it didn't work correctly for. Everyone it did work for just moved on with life. Echo chamber is alive and well. I'm not saying it isn't a problem. But it wasn't a problem with the GM release last week so the numbers have something to do with it.

Only the people on Macrumors are complaining...who knows how many countless others are having this issue. Like my g/f her kids, that are not on these forums? To assume that everyone that owns an iPhone is on these forums is just insane. I just e-mailed them update their iPhones to iOS 10, not sure if they got it or not, as I am PHONE LESS at the moment, waiting for the recovery download to finish.

I wonder how many of us did not update to iOS 9.3.5 and if that us the cause?
Was thinking the same thing. I remember back when iOS9 came out i had a bunch of phones at work being bricked. I came to the conclusion that no one was updating their phones each time an update came out.
