Oh, this is where Eddy Cue's junk "App Store" comes into play. Apple Support is saying to update iTunes to the new version, but I can't update because the install is stuck, and at the same time my iPhone is bricked. Dare I reboot the computer to solve this mess? Yeah, guess I have to.

Just did an OTA for my iPhone 6 Plus, and it didn't "brick", so it might only be affecting specific models, i'm guessing.

Btw iOS 10 just sucks, Apple totally dropped the ball with this update, it's filled with gimmicks. Looking forward to a proper update in iOS 11.

Dont freakout. Both our iPhone 6S and iPad Pro 12.9" got bricked at the sam

Don't freak out and erase all of your stuff if you don't have it backed up. All you have to do is plug your device to your computer and do a wired update. Make sure you update your iTunes to the latest version and let the firmware completely download.

We bricked 2 of our devices (iPhone 6S and iPad Pro 12.9") and completely let everything download and it unbricked our devices.

Just let everything download properly. View attachment 651158

Allow the software to download completely. You could see it on the right hand corner. By doing this you won't have to delete your entire device.

For those on the beta GM build - I don't want to deal with hassle of restoring. If I delete the beta profile - will the next official iOS update be available as an OTA download?

Yep, once you delete your beta profile you will be treated as any other "normal" iOS user. :)

PS I am actually thinking of keeping the public beta profile installed, this way we get to play with the new stuff earlier and avoid the general update rush, like today.

Good to know, just waiting on iTunes downloading the iOS 10 image after 6s went into recovery mode.

I updated OTA to 10.0.1 without any issues from 9.3.5 a week ago with the Developer Beta Profile on my 6s.

No issues.

This may be mumbo jumbo or people being stupid.

My 6s+ 128gb updated fine OTA. I was halfway through when I noticed this thread. Now to update the watch.

Installed flawlessly on my iPhone 6 plus 64g. But everything seems a bit sluggish now... Installing watch os now...

iOS 9 had an 88% adoption rate. That doesn't support what you're stating.

Over a long period of time, sure. I'm simply saying that situations like this feed directly into peoples fears about updating and I wish that wasn't the case. It's how you get people posting in this thread with the usual "I always wait X releases before updating and you people are all stupid for doing it before then!"

Mine keeps having a problem, saying reconnect your iPhone, it could not back up iPhone because it lost connection.

failed in both 6s+ and iPad pro 12. used iTunes to update after and went fine. ota worked for iPad air 2
