What a joke! They call millions of users worldwide a small number.. people should be fired for this, having some balls and taking responsibility.
I updated OTA to 10.0.1 without any issues from 9.3.5 a week ago with the Developer Beta Profile on my 6s.
No issues.
This may be mumbo jumbo or people being stupid.
To all those who have updated to iOS 10 after restoring their bricked devices without a backup and have potentially now lost all their data, does Safari at least seem snappier?
Another P!SS poor response.
P!SS poor response for those who have had their devices disabled.
If you download iTunes 12.5.1, it should tell you the update failed and it'll ask you if you want to update, restore, or cancel. Select the update button. My wife was able to get iOS 10 this way AND keep all of her settings using update rather than restore.im not backed up (I'm super upset but obviously its my own fault) but my iTunes wasn't up to date so I'm updating that first then i will plug it back in and see what happens?before resorting to restore
Millions? LOL
I thought mine had bricked (6+) as I just got a black screen after installation, but I did a 2-button hard reset, the Apple logo appeared and after the progress bar finished, it booted into iOS 10. Was nervous there for a few... whew.
My 6s Plus got bricked as part of the update. When I connected to iTunes it wants to "upgrade" to iOS 9.2.5, which I assume will fail. It looks like I'll need to do a restore.
I really wish Apple would test their releases.
Yep, it apparently is now a suitable replacement for "temporarily inconvenienced". I remember when "bricked" meant it will never work again and you might as well disassemble it to recycle the parts. The followup phrase used back then to explain it to those with the quizzical looks was, "it has essentially turned into a lump of clay."So are we just admitting that the word 'bricked' has lost all meaning?
Forget the comments, it's even being used wrong in the article itself.
