Updating a lot, very frequently, is called “agile software development”.

Agile does not mean lots of bugs ;) .......... and Apple is not deploying using Agile principles, its still on old school releases....

They might be working on what they consider Agile.....but they are not releasing very frequently, the only reason we have seen more releases recently, cause some big stuff ups have made it through, under waterfall you would also get a patch out asap.

Google took over 6 MONTHS to fix Bluetooth bug...there’s still debate if it was fixed. And over ONE YEAR to fix battery bug in Nexus device.

And here we are whining about Apple updates (too many apparent for some) and fixing issues in 1-2 weeks timeframe.

Oh my, look at all the whine and cheese of these spoiled consumers.

Spoiled consumers who plunked down their hard earned cash for a product aren't entitled to fast, responsive bug fixes. Yeah. That makes perfect sense...

I encourage everyone that has an issue to whine away, and keep the pressure on. Don't tolerate any shills for this company. Apple is big enough to endure the pressure.
Disclosure: I am an Apple fan, and love many of their products.

And you do your job without ever making mistakes.

You must not have one. Lol

I wish I found some humor in your post, but I just don't see any.

Software to millions of devices is hard. Fix one thing, and another or two pops up due to that fix. Debugging takes time.

Fast responsive bug fixes you want? So you like the fast updates, right? Isn’t that what Apple is doing here?!?!!?!?!

You just made an argument in favor of Apple and didn’t even realize it?! Lol

Hint: Android flagships are a pretty penny too!

Everyone is using their hard earned cash. We are not special. Shock!!!

You don’t see any humor because I was not joking.

I sometimes have a similar bug, I open the camera app and I'm not able to focus. Force closing the app doesn't work and I need to reboot the phone. It only seldom happens, and it isn't related to 11.2 I've been seeing this bug ever since I bought my 8+ a couple of months ago

I can confirm that. I think since iPhone 6. Happens very rarely (I'd say once or twice in a year and I'm using the camera really often) but when it does you get really stuck for a while.

The worst thing for me right now is the iCloud upload bug. It worked reliably for years. Now I'm getting strange informations (see my previous posting please) and the upload is some kind of coincidence if it works or not…

I'm aware of software development cycles and testing. The original point, of my post, is that Apple is releasing garbage updates, and is lacking in the QA arena lately. You commented that Apple fans are whining. Your opinion is different than mine, and IMO, wrong.

Honestly, you are not schooling me in any way, and I am not really interested in responding to you past this post. Lol (hope I used that in the spirit you are familiar with).

I'm in the beta program and running 11.2. 11.2.1 does not show up for me. I assume because of the beta program?

I don't remember having that bug on the previous phone, but it is so rarely happening I may have been lucky before iOS 11 and never experience that problem, or I simply don't remember.
Next time I'll try opening a third party app to check if the problem is on the official camera app only or if it something wrong at the OS level

If the primary reasons for the "updates" is to fix bugs which shouldn't have been released out of beta, and if it happens frequently, then that is called repairing "buggy software" that was released prematurely to the public. It appears that some folks think Apple's agility in fixing bugs is "what makes Apple great." There was a time when what made Apple great was high quality products and full featured, non-buggy software. Granted, Apple can pounce on bugs more quickly than Android/Google since Apple has complete control over both hardware and software it releases. The "pouncing" used to be less frequent as the bugs were also less frequent. It would appear that since iOS products have overtaken Mac products, and since mobile phones generally have reduced lifetimes when compared to desktops and laptops, accelerated releases in an attempt to more quickly get to market have allowed bugs to proliferate. To some degree, this has also been happening with MacOS as well, but much less frequently.

Like when iOS 4 I think destroyed iPhone 4?

I haven’t really used the camera on my X much until a recently holiday and I started to worry because the photos were very hit and miss. Some where amazing and some brightly lit scenarios looked like they were taken on a 3GS at best. Hope this fixes it...

User error?

I just happened to look at past photos taken with my first iPhone (3G S)-there is no comparison-photos taken on my X are gorgeous.

So you'd prefer to have an OS riddled with bugs, some of them YEARS old and so serious they compromise every aspect of your device, to at least having a company that will find bugs and fixes them quickly?

If so, Android is right over there!

Can you list some bugs in Android (let's say version 7 which covers most of this year's flagships) that are nearly as blatant as iOS 11 ones? Don't only bring Pixel as this is only small fraction of Android devices and is still immature (2 years old product). I'm very curious what you can come up with. And by blatant bugs I mean reproducible, broken functionalities, not something that happens once in 1000 tries under very specific circumstances and only on fraction of devices.

Bluetooth issues with 7.0 took MONTHS to fix.

Android 8: https://www.google.com/amp/s/gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/android-8-0-oreo-google-clock-alarm-random-reboot-issues-pixel-nexus-1754753?amp=1&akamai-rum=off

No fixes for these issues to date.

all those jamokes who said it was "ur case" doing it just got BTFO'd.

It shouldn't be BROKE IN THE FIRST PLACE!

I think you missed my definition of "blatant" bug. Those are some few people reporting alarm issues, on iOS everyone has same bugs and can try them by themselves. So please try harder.

For BT issue, what is it? I use Android 7 device since April, and bluetooth is on and active 24/7 (syncing with fit band and with car phone system when I'm driving) and never noticed anything weird. So maybe it's again a bug affecting 0,1% of users? I really hoped that you'll list some bug that I can now open my phone and see it myself (like I did for calculator on iPhone X on first try).

BT issues lasted 6 months or more. Don’t lie dude.

Everyone knows that android releases are betas. Even android sites admit this.

Those 8.0 issues are WIDESPREAD. Again, NO FIX.

It happens. That’s why there is the term “debugging”.

So many words and still no real example. I didn't write that the issue lasted less or something. Just asked what it was so I could check if it affects me. But apparently it's fixed now or was only very limited in range. I'm still waiting for a real bug that can be reproduced and affects all android devices with given Android version.

Well, if you must know...camera focus issue did NOT affect my X.

So, your Android 7 since April has no BT issue (or so you claim) because it was fixed some 6+ MONTHS after it was found by Google team.

iOS 11.2.1 fixed camera focus issue on SOME iPhones...1 week later after bug was found.

BTW, when is your Android going to get Android 8.0 and all the new features and security? Next week? Next month? 6 months? Never?

If anything, compare Android 8.0 issues with iOS 11 issues. Why are you comparing iOS 11 to over a year old OS?

Let me refresh your memory and give a timeline...BT issues noted on Android 7.0 after intro in AUGUST 2016 (i am not counting the beta). Bunch of threads on reddit and Google own forums affecting Pixels, nexus, and non-Google phones...basically EVERYONE. Then in FEBRUARY 2017, after SIX MONTHS of this issue, Google promise a fix. The fix did not come until 7.1.2, which was released in APRIL 2017...but unlike Apple, this release came in waves...so, some did not get 7.1.2 until May or later.

Basically, this BT issue that affected everyone lasted over 8 freaking MONTHS!

For me iCloud Files doesn’t work anymore. If I select locations I don’t see my local folders... this since I updated to 11.2.1 . Is this happening to you too?
