I was wondering. I tried to take a picture, and couldn't get my 8+ to focus. I had to touch the image area a few times, and it finally seemed to focus. It did seem odd. I even checked the lens to see if it were something on it. Good to know it wasn't me. It's Apple Quality unControl...

I had same issue on my 8+. I thought maybe it was the camera itself at first.

So you'd prefer to have an OS riddled with bugs, some of them YEARS old and so serious they compromise every aspect of your device, to at least having a company that will find bugs and fixes them quickly?

If so, Android is right over there!

Quit your whining! You people whine and complain when they don't fix issues, then you whine and complain when they DO FIX ISSUES! Just go to Android and be done with it, then you won't have to deal with updates anymore, cause you'll almost never get any!

Yes, I've had this from the beginning since receiving my iPhone X and it was running 11.1, so glad they fixed this!

That's not true at all. All my Xiaomi, Huawei and certainly my Next gets updates. All my phone has the latest Google Security updates.

And... The best thing with Android is that I don't have to dealnwith these annoying update badages and annoying update pop up

So your Androids are on 8.0? Nice!!! Or are you just spouting BS?

Monthly Security patches are just that. They usually don’t fix major software issues.

Oh yeah, Pixel 2 has no issues at all!

X has all these HORRIBLE issues called software bugs that are fixed in a timely manner.

I much rather have HARDWARE and software issues of Pixels. But nah, that’s just part of the Android experience!

When X has a minor bug, we think the world is about to end until it is fixed a week later....

Oh the horror of owning an Apple device....

Who the hell is talking about a Pixel 2? Or anything Android? Yuk.

Well, if you must know...camera focus issue did NOT affect my X.

So, your Android 7 since April has no BT issue (or so you claim) because it was fixed some 6+ MONTHS after it was found by Google team.

iOS 11.2.1 fixed camera focus issue on SOME iPhones...1 week later after bug was found.

BTW, when is your Android going to get Android 8.0 and all the new features and security? Next week? Next month? 6 months? Never?

If anything, compare Android 8.0 issues with iOS 11 issues. Why are you comparing iOS 11 to over a year old OS?

Let me refresh your memory and give a timeline...BT issues noted on Android 7.0 after intro in AUGUST 2016 (i am not counting the beta). Bunch of threads on reddit and Google own forums affecting Pixels, nexus, and non-Google phones...basically EVERYONE. Then in FEBRUARY 2017, after SIX MONTHS of this issue, Google promise a fix. The fix did not come until 7.1.2, which was released in APRIL 2017...but unlike Apple, this release came in waves...so, some did not get 7.1.2 until May or later.

Basically, this BT issue that affected everyone lasted over 8 freaking MONTHS!

I didn't mean only this camera issue. Some quick short list:
- 4th December bug (affecting all devices using local notifications)
- calculator bug (affecting all devices, fixed by Apple by... disabling animations)
- A with weird symbol instead of "I", not sure if all but a lot of X affected
- HomeKit bug (all affected as far as I remember)

And you keep on retelling me same bug over and over again. But I've read about this bug a little and I can agree with you that it was there for some devices and took long to fix. Still, that's only one example over two years timespan.

BTW, I don't care when my device will get 8.0 as it has already more features than iOS will have in two years :).

It shouldn't be BROKE IN THE FIRST PLACE!
That's a rather moot statement. No issues should ever exist when it comes to anything, but reality is reality nonetheless.
[doublepost=1513276438][/doublepost]
Whatever happened to "it just works"??
Now it's a case of "it should work .... after we release the next software update".
By that logic it never applied to anything as there is essentially always someone experiencing some issues with something somewhere.

Memory leak. Battery bug. I can go on and on. Affecting google and non google devices. All taking months to fix.

You are comparing a new OS vs your over year old OS.

WHY NOT COMPARE BUGS between iOS 11 and Android 8?? Both came out same time.

Do you see how silly your “argument” is?

I don't be the urge that Apple fans wants to bring Android when the discussion is about stupid iPhone problem. What does Android has to do with camera problem happened on iPhone.

By the way, if I am paying 1500+ for the stupid iPhone X, I expect perfect phone. Not these stupid software bug. If Apple can't develier that, then people will complain.

And no. Not all my Android phone are in Android 8.0. However, that doesn't mean all the sudden my Android phone will be less secure that what it is. Xiaomi and Huawei has done pretty good job on sending updates to its MiUI or EMUI. What I want is a good update that doesn't screw my phone, instead just running the latest version. MIUI 9 runs absolutely beautiful on my Redmi Note 4 and Mi Max. EMUI runs great on my Huawei P10.

See I refuse update all my iOS devices to iOS 11. I only updated one iPhone 6S and performance is awful. But I don't care much, because i stopped using iPhone as my daily driver.

If you think Android is bad, then good. You just showed iOS is just as bad as Android.

In this case, I might just stuck with my 300 dollar Android phone. It runs better than my iPhone 6S with iOS 11

I bring up Android to compare the silliness of some here that think that software is easy and should be perfect from get go.

You need to read up on Android 8.0 security features hardbaked into it. It is far more secure than 7.0.

So, Note 8 with MSRP $940 or Pixel XL 2 $950 (highest memory config) should be perfect too??? They too should not be buggy either?

You get how silly your argument is now?

Chinese OEMs...how many of them are loaded with spyware? How many are allowed into government agencies, especially Huawei?!?! Wanna guess why?!

Guys did you notice something like a horizontal bar under battery indicator on top right corner on locked screen. I started noticing it after the update, idk if this is the case. Do you know what that is?

You know very well what I mean. When Jobs was around, we didn't have nearly so many required updates. The man was a perfectionist and he was demanding. Cook is a great guy, but under his watch the QA has slipped. There's just no doubt about it.
Not having as many releases can also mean that just not as many bugs were being fixed as quickly. There were definitely all kinds of issues no matter who was in charge. One other thing to factor in is the much much larger user base with a much larger variety of devices of all kinds of ages with a more complex OS, all of which has grown a lot in comparison to early years of iOS.

I am not saying that you shouldn't hold same standard for 900 dollars Pixel or Samsung Note 8. If I am paying 1000 plus for a phone, it better to be not bug riddled. So far, good know how many bugs were discovered with iOS 11. Constant updates and constant bug. To the point that you start get annoyed with the updates. I rather not update the software than constantly facing new bugs.

Again, I don't know if there any spyware fund on Chinese phones. If Chinese government wants to spy on me, then go ahead. I don't really care. What they gonna get from me? It is not like Canadian or US government not spy on me. It is not like iOS has no backdoor. You just don't know about it.

Again, German government just passed a law requiring all electronic devices must have backdoor. What does that tells you.

Again. Point is not about how fast one can fix bugs. It is customer shouldn't go through constant updates. If I need update my software every week just to make my phone works normally, then I won't use it. That is the point.

on my iphone X it seems like it would focus lock but it would still have a slight soft image look to it.

TouchID on my iPhone 7 with 11.2.1 is now as slow TouchID on my iPhone 6 with 11.1

With the latest release, switching from an app to another sometimes is problematic! Sometimes when I land to a new app from another, it remains white and not responsive. I have an iPhone 7 256Gb and with 3 apps open, never had so many problems with iOS. Considering switching to Pixel 2

Good luck with finding your problem-free Pixel 2. Please do your research on the multitude of issues regarding Pixel 2. But everyone has their day in the sun...so, you may get a lucky one.

Search on AndroidPolice. It is almost comical at how many issues Pixel 2 (XL or regular) have had!!!
