Apple does need to copy off someone ever since Steve died!

Fortunately, even without Steve, Apple does not have malware and spyware or piss-poor resale value of anything hardware related or poor software updates despite catastrophic bugs or just plain incompetence from OEM (e.g. bootloops) from other operating systems.

So, we do have many things to thank for this time of year. But, i hear some folks love to punish themselves on other operating systems. It’s all good. Ignorance is bliss to some.

Yep. 2017 was a banner year in security and stability of iOS and OS X

With the latest release, switching from an app to another sometimes is problematic! Sometimes when I land to a new app from another, it remains white and not responsive. I have an iPhone 7 256Gb and with 3 apps open, never had so many problems with iOS. Considering switching to Pixel 2

Not sure if this is off-topic since Mod warned me...but this is in response to this person’s post....

Pixel 2 issues so far:

Buzzing speakers (new finding today)
Disabled bootloader unlocking [fixed]
Muted mic issue
Issue installing October OTA
Slower finger reader [8.1]
Failing portrait mode
Unresponsive headphone adapter
Unresponsive touchscreen near edge [fixed]
Assistant not detecting voice input [sorta fixed]
Poor audio when recording video [fixed]
Random reboots <<kernel panic!="">>
Strange banding display - LED allergy
Locking/unlocking flash attack
Clicking/high pitched sound [fixed]
Launched without saturated color mode
Shipped without an operating system [fixed, right?]
Uneven "grainy" appearance
Off-angle blue-shifts
Thick bands of darkness or bright color
Android Auto crashing

Oh damn my only issue with the X was trying to figure out how to force quit apps. You brought the receipts about the Pixel

I run into the bug I already described even after installing 11.2.1
Camera app suddenly stops working, all I see is a blurred image and the only solution is to reboot the phone.
Third party apps are still working, so it isn't a bug in how iOS communicates with the hardware but something related to the camera app. The weird thing is I can't solve by force quitting the app.
I haven't found the pattern yet, or I'd have filed a radar.

The iOS 11.2.1 update released this morning appears to address an ongoing camera focus issue that some iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus users began experiencing following the release of iOS 11.2.

According to affected users, the camera was not able to focus properly when attempting to capture an image. The camera either shifted continually between the two lenses of the iPhone X and the iPhone 8 Plus, or refused to focus entirely. From MacRumors reader Nixie:Resetting, restarting, and changing camera settings did not address the issue, but downgrading to iOS 11.1.2 did, suggesting it was caused by a bug in iOS 11.2.

MacRumors readers on Twitter and the forums who were experiencing the problem have said that installing iOS 11.2.1 has resolved the autofocus issue.

iOS 11.2.1 is available as a free download that can accessed by going to Settings --> General --> Software Update. In addition to fixing the autofocus issue, iOS 11.2.1 also re-enables remote access for shared users of the Home app, which Apple disabled last week to address a major HomeKit vulnerability.

The update isn’t working for me. I’m on 11.2.2 and it’s still doing it.
