iOS 11.2 Public Beta Update Introduces Apple Pay Cash

We have to load the card first? Why can't it be bank to bank? At least have it load the amount from the bank we are transfer to the person. Doesn't seem any easier than other services to be honest.

If it was bank to bank, how would Apple be able to earn interest on stored money in the Apple wallet?

I had to delete a card from Wallet since I was already at the maximum limit. A few minutes later I got prompted to re-enter my iCloud password, followed by the Apple Pay Cash card appearing in Wallet with a prompt to set it up. Hopefully that helps someone.

The popular solution to all iOS problems is reinstall iOS. When you do that, all your chat history is gone. That person is saying Apple should fix that first.

Not exclusive to the Public Beta. I just set it up on 11.2 DP2 on an iPhone X.

*It appears the other user needs to have 11.2 / Apple Pay Cash setup as I'm getting "[contact name] cannot receive payments sent with Apple Pay at this time." Kinda thinking an invite of some sort should be sent the the new user when they receive cash.

Or maybe is a form of verification. Using a card in your name from a bank that would have already verified your identity.

I wouldn’t touch these new pay systems with a 10 mile barge pole with iOS 11 in it’s current bug filled mess! I haven’t had Apple Pay work since the last update...

I tried to watch a You Tube video on Touch Arcades website the other day and it crashed Safari completely...

It’s an utter fudging mess, I have never had as many crashes and bugs in several years of iOS use as I have had with iOS 11!!

Now that's a shame. I haven't noticed any issues at all on my 7+ running 11.1.

Seems nicely implemented, and it's nice to have a "card" you can fill and use elsewhere like PayPal. The question is, with so many people using Venmo (which works in iMessage), and Square Cash, why would anyone use Apple Pay cash except apple fans? They all work the same....

Venmo allows you to transfer money to another user without you having to predeposit any money into your account. Cash by Square does the same thing using debit cards. So I am not sure why Apple is requiring you to first preload the Apple Cash card.
