I went through a verification process that asked for the last 4 digts of my SSN, then the full SSN, a scan of the front and back of my drivers license, and then got a screen that said verification failed. Anyone else got through this?

running the dev build, I set everything up, but now I tried setting up the add money part and it keeps crashing, is it because its the dev build or is it because its just not working or should I try restarting my phone? I'm using it on my iPhone 8 Plus

I still want to know how safe it is? Is it like cash where once I have the money, I have it? No risk of chargeback, etc? Or is it like Venmo where you can get ripped off if you use it for craigslist sales?

This far, no mention of chargebacks, I don’t believe they are implementing it. However if you’re that worried, transfer it to your bank as soon as you receive it.

Why would someone use this over PayPal?

If you’re anything like me, to avoid the big ass fees PayPal take off me.

Umm that’s the regular credit card terminal. If the place takes tips, the terminal asks you.
The terminal never asks me, but the tip jar asking for tips is right there and so I have to dig out cash and hope I have change. Paper bills are a pain.

On my 6Plus, I downlosed the PH@, but when it tries to verify, it fails and says it did so because I am no longer connected to the internet.

Launching a browser shows that not to be accurate, but it happens again when I retry.

Finally, I rebooted the phone, but still the same. Anyone else getting this?

Hmm the two-factor authentication requirement might be too big of a hurdle for mass adoption.

Question: Can you use your Apple Pay Cash balance toward purchases made via your other Apple devices?

I'm confused on how this works for the recipient of the funds. Are they able to use those funds with merchants via ApplePay only? Or can the recipient transfer the incoming funds to their linked bank account and then have the funds available via their debit card?

Either. You can use the funds immediately anywhere Apple Pay is accepted, or you can tranfer it back to your bank account.

Sorry, I didn't get this reference even though I heard how instant ramen is a form of cheap food for college students in the States. Ramen is a comfort/luxury food over here and we call instant ramen "instant noodles"

Can anyone help explain this?

I think they are hinting that Ramen is code for something else. Back in my day, and it shows how old I am, the was the price of an ounce of pot.

Just what we need, another US only feature. Knowing this will never come to where I live (Belgium) makes that Apple premium even harder to swallow. Just let me talk to Siri on ATV already!!

I wouldn’t touch these new pay systems with a 10 mile barge pole with iOS 11 in it’s current bug filled mess! I haven’t had Apple Pay work since the last update...

I tried to watch a You Tube video on Touch Arcades website the other day and it crashed Safari completely...

It’s an utter fudging mess, I have never had as many crashes and bugs in several years of iOS use as I have had with iOS 11!!
I use Apple Pay almost daily and it works without issue, and I've been using the developer previews. Never had an issue.

I just did a transfer with a friend and no issues. Setup was fast and easy. However it took a minute to figure it how to enable it. But I’m sure in the final build Apple will have a guide or something.

I setup my bank also and it was easy. So far, so good.

Showing up for me in the UK

Are you able to set it up with a UK bank account? I thought/assumed it was US-only...

Anyone know if it’s showing up in Canada?

Apple Pay via messages isn’t available U.K

It definitely says it's US only.

It's apparently a Discover Debit card according to Wallet.

Correct, "Apple Pay Cash is a service provided by Green Dot Bank, member FDIC."

Yeah, that's not going to have merchant compatibility issues at all.

Pretty much.

How?

I see nothing to tell it to use my debit vs my credit card.
