Why isn’t anyone detailing the official Messages in iCloud? All the articles thus far either only discuss AirPlay 2, or just add a throwaway line mentioning Messages.

Can someone explain how iMessage in cloud will work if you have 2 iPhones, both logged into same main iCloud, but iMessage (on one phone) logged into a different appleid?

I don’t think it’ll make a difference. Messages get backup and synced based on the iCloud Apple ID. The iMessage ID is just an identifier

Because its an Airplay 2 press release, not an iOS 11.4 release. Something is off about this.

Buzzfeed started all this today with zero proof. I dont understand why asking for actual proof is this huge deal and everyone is freaking out.

So what u are saying is buzzfeeds article and apples official document coming out 15min of each other is just mere co-incidence?

Why does Apple's article only talk about HomePod and Airplay 2? You are honestly going to tell me thats not strange?

"iOS 11.4 brings stereo pairs and multi-room audio with AirPlay 2" is the title of Apple's official press release, so I'd say it's both.

Strong chance it’s been pulled again. Only thing suggesting it’s still in is Rene Ritchie’s tweet about it coming in 11.4 today.

Also I suppose airplay2 is bigger news because it can generate more sales of the HomePod. I’ve held off buying another one because of airplay2 being delayed.

iMessage in the cloud is just a software feature that perhaps they can pull or turn off if at launch it fails

Really, where are all the other features of iOS 11.4? Mainly the biggest, Messages in the Cloud? This is not a typical iOS press release.

I think so, too. If stereo works well, I'm likely to get a second HomePod.

So is Airplay 2 backwards compatible to Airplay 1 devices like stereo receivers, Airport Express or do both standards live in iOS 11.4 and future updates and Airplay 2 only activates when there is appropriate hardware? I assume 10.4 doesn't "break" older Airplay devices.

Funny, what you highlighted doesn't say its coming Today.

I'm not asking a hard question, I want actual confirmation not hype.

Then may I kindly suggest you get off MacOS Rumors forums, wait a few hours, and see if it's released? The actual release of iOS 11.4 is the only actual confirmation you're going to get, and you're just going to have to wait for that.

Unless it’s been pulled again but again the lack of iMessage in the cloud in that article doesn’t mean 11.4 isn’t coming out today...
But it doesn't mean it is. Thats all in trying to get across. Because nothing says the word "today".

I'm wondering about that, too. I haven't seen any mention of an upcoming AirPort Extreme firmware update.

So for the ones that think buzzfeed article is wrong.

They knew that the HomePod was being released to a few other countries before anyone else did which was then confirmed by Apple.

The only source they could have got this from was Apple.

Which can only mean their 11.4 “guess”
Is true too
