i think so too. If i hadn't watched the keynote this year i wouldn't have known about ios 11 coming so i would've just waited until i get the notif. I'm sure once Apple pushes out the notifs to customers the adoption rate for ios 11 will be higher. Also, i have the iphone 6+ and ios 11 is very fluid on my phone and everything seems faster too. It's def a great update.

This is bad. 50% battery drain in less than hour just going on Facebook.
And phone hot to touch.
Not happy. This is on iPhone 7plus.
Why can't apple test their iOS fully before release. Every B****y time this kind of thing happens. Puts you off iPhones for good.
I haven't heard android becoming useless after every update!

That's normal, because it's doing all kinds of **** on the background the first day. The only thing useless here is your reply...

If you liked all of those extra keys on the keyboard in landscape mode, you might want to hold off. Especially if you have a plus model of the iPhone. They are all gone. I was just on an hour long chat with Apple Support. It was an hour because the support people didn't even know the keys were gone. After being transferred to a supervisor I found out that this is the way of things in iOS11. We are not impressed.

After all these you still haven’t understood why? You poor soul. It will always be like this as it is indexing and updating things in the actual OS in the background. Give it a day or 2.

People don’t usually install point updates as quickly as .0 releases. And iOS 10.5 really isn’t that different.

We're here talking about how adoption is slower this year at only 10% in 24 hours. Meanwhile Google dreams about numbers like these, even weeks or months after launch!

And the Android adoption is something like 1% in 6 months or something equally as ridiculous. 10% in one day is pretty incredible. Say what you wan,t but Apple is king of the OS'es by a huge margin.

That’s because most devices don’t get Android updates....

Is it just me or do AR apps not work on iPhone6?? Tried 3 free ones and NONE work. What am I missing? I did a clean install and everything.

You need 6s and up

iOS 11 introduces no new features in practice, so of course people are not crazy about upgrading ASAP. They will do, eventually. Just without the usual passion

If you believe that, you must not be familiar with iOS 11.

If it wasn't for MR and other Apple information sites, the adoption rate would have been skyrocketing. Thanks sites like MR, more people are more informed about the updates.

iOS 11 doesn't "disable" 32-bit apps. It simply has no 32-bit libraries in order to tun them.

The end result is the same. For the first time I'll be staying with an old release as long as possible. From the sound of it, I'm not alone.

My wife's IT department sent an email instructing everyone in her company to stay on iOS10. When stuff like that's happening, there's a misfire someplace.

But let me turn-off Bluetooth (or Wifi)!
I don't feel like owing my own device. You don't even have a 3000mAh battery!

Funny, Apple talks about Rights to Privacy, Right to this and that.. Choice-Freedom but

It's like an AI is forcing me to live & breathe in a certain way. I live in India, these are useless and will only drain my battery outside my home.

Question: How about flights? Classic Switch-off?
Next iOS update: will tell you to sleep and eat. :D

I know this is my own fault, I missed a step, I have had iPhones for nearly 10 years now. But it was still frustrating...

When a major software change comes along I have a process. Back up the devices to both the cloud and the computer, download but don’t install the update and when I have time to watch closely, update the device.

So I did this yesterday and bricked my phone. Had the restore screen showing. I went to the website and what do you know, number 1, make sure you have the latest iTunes. So the older versions iTunes will let you download and attempt to install newer versions of iOS that they are not compatible with? Really?

Got it worked out but my MBP is getting pretty old and is running pretty slow for some reason. It might be time to upgrade.

Spyware company releases new advert using iOS 11 as the excuse. Maybe fewer people are running apps with their spyware in?

And here we go with this worthless metric. We will be getting updates on this nonsense for the next few weeks.

Coming from the android world, it is so refreshing for this to just "happen" without worrying and wondering when/if your device is going to be updated (or potentially be open to some new virus.)

IOS is a lot better than android. Never going back.

It's quick and easy to turn off Bluetooth and/or Wifi. Maybe I don't understand your issue.

Just an FYI to 5S users if you haven't updated you will find a lot of lag and overall slowness.
Updated yesterday as soon as iOS 11 became available and can't say that I experience much lag or slowness on my 5S.

What about these periodic hicks with "Older iOS"?

The update work great on both my SE and my I pad. No problems to report here.

Just an FYI to 5S users if you haven't updated you will find a lot of lag and overall slowness. On the plus side it seems my Apple music now remember the playlist and song it was last playing after long periods of time not listening or switching to full library when connecting to a new BT device (usually my car did this but didn't do it yesterday after updating).

Also nice to have low battery mode and hotspot shortcuts in control centre by why no settings shortcut Apple? Also clearing a notification on the lock screen clears it in the regular notification tab so no more having to double action notifications. Please group by app in next update please?

Just wish it didn't slow down the phone as much as it did but should be replacing it within a few months so I'll try and put up with it till then. Overall pros outweigh the slow down con but be warned it will be slow and laggy on a 5S but that really wasn't a surprise. I mean it's a 4 year old smartphone.

I actually feel that my 32GB 5S is running snappier. Part of that may be the fast zoom of apps, but the camera is definitely pulling up more quickly. Apple Music decided to duplicate half of my playlists in my MacBook for some reason, and delete half from my phone, which is annoying, but one of the growing pains.

That absolutely not cause and effect, even without the MS email problem the advice would be the same. Organisations are risk averse, they can either get a potentially very, very small increase in productivity via the new OS going well, or have an absolute failure of the system if it goes badly, of course they are going to advise not to update yet... it's simply not worth taking any chances until the OS is proven stable 'in the wild'
