Truer words. If my IT department had its way always (instead of just most of the time) we'd wait six months before updating to any new version of the Mac OS.That absolutely not cause and effect, even without the MS email problem the advice would be the same. Organisations are risk averse, they can either get a potentially very, very small increase in productivity via the new OS going well, or have an absolute failure of the system if it goes badly, of course they are going to advise not to update yet... it's simply not worth taking any chances until the OS is proven stable 'in the wild'
Could have been your wife’s company's misfire and not apples. The end result is the same. For the first time I'll be staying with an old release as long as possible. From the sound of it, I'm not alone.
My wife's IT department sent an email instructing everyone in her company to stay on iOS10. When stuff like that's happening, there's a misfire someplace.
Possibly a timezone effect: I can't find any information what data Mixpanel collects, but I guess it's by internet traffic worldwide. Note that the "older" spikes are equally spaced every 24 hours at 11 am. I assume that at these times some countries were older devices with earlier versions of iOS are more active.I don’t trust that chart, what’s with the spikes for “older”?
People don’t usually install point updates as quickly as .0 releases. And iOS 10.5 really isn’t that different.
What happens after I update an iOS device over-the-air to iOS 11 and connect it to a computer running iTunes 12.6.2 (ie, the last iTunes version with the App Store)? Can iTunes 12.6.2 backup devices running iOS 11? Can it transfer files? Can it sync non-app items (music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, podcasts)? I assume the beta versions of iOS 11 did work with iTunes 12.6.2, so technically the GM of iOS 11 should so too.
Thanks for the info. I was leaning towards not updating on my 5S. I'm pretty sure I won't now.Just an FYI to 5S users if you haven't updated you will find a lot of lag and overall slowness. On the plus side it seems my Apple music now remember the playlist and song it was last playing after long periods of time not listening or switching to full library when connecting to a new BT device (usually my car did this but didn't do it yesterday after updating).
Also nice to have low battery mode and hotspot shortcuts in control centre by why no settings shortcut Apple? Also clearing a notification on the lock screen clears it in the regular notification tab so no more having to double action notifications. Please group by app in next update please?
Just wish it didn't slow down the phone as much as it did but should be replacing it within a few months so I'll try and put up with it till then. Overall pros outweigh the slow down con but be warned it will be slow and laggy on a 5S but that really wasn't a surprise. I mean it's a 4 year old smartphone.
But let me turn-off Bluetooth (or Wifi)!
I don't feel like owing my own device. You don't even have a 3000mAh battery!
Funny, Apple talks about Rights to Privacy, Right to this and that.. Choice-Freedom but
It's like an AI is forcing me to live & breathe in a certain way. I live in India, these are useless and will only drain my battery outside my home.
Question: How about flights? Classic Switch-off?
When Jonny Ive is gone theyll go back to skewmorphism.

iOS 11 doesn't "disable" 32-bit apps. It simply has no 32-bit libraries in order to tun them.
Indeed. Blame the developers for abandoning you.....
iPad users should be downloading iOS 11 as fast as possible. It's the update iPad really needs.
Do you get told what apps won't work if you update?
