iOS 11 is still trash from what I've experienced. I am running an iPhone 8 on 11.1 beta 3 and its nowhere as fluid and stable as 10.3.3 was

iOS 11 has been the best OS upgrade I've ever installed. I absolutely love it. No joke
I believe you, but how old is your device? The problem is that old devices are not well tested on the new IOS, and I don't see reasons for trading stability for a handful of features.

Now they started pushing a popup for the upgrade, I bet many people will be annoyed and will eventually give in.
Yeah I got two notifications to install iOS 11.0.3. Each time I delete it and it redownloads using up my metered wifi bandwidth.

Still on iOS10.3.3. Updated and downgraded 3 days later. I'm happy, I have an iPhone6 that's not buggy and battery lasts all day long. Got up at 8am it's now 23.59pm I've been using my phone all day long and it's on 8%. Screw iOS11. No one can tell me I'll get even close to that with 11, it's a joke. And why are you praising this statistic. If it was an amazing incredible operating system that did nothing but improve your device instead of introduce bugs and kill the battery it would be like 94% (minus old devices). 55% after like a month is aweful, half of everyone that can update isn't or won't. When did that become a slow climb to success? That's an embarrassment as far as I'm concerned. And all this nonsense about waiting for iPhoneX? No, that's not it, if the new features were that good people would want it NOW. When iPhoneX comes out people will stop using their old devices and it coming installed with iOS11 it will make this statistic jump to like 70-80%, which of course Apple will then publicise, but it's not that people updated, it's simply they bought a new device with iOS11 preinstalled. All nonsense ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm running iOS11.1b3 on a ~4 yo iPad Air and a ~3 yo iPhone 6+ without any issues. In fact, I've run all the iOS 11 betas without any issues.

I think iOS 11 is the Windows Vista of Apple nobody wants it everybody just wants to downgrade, so those statistics are forced statistics, Apple should still be signing iOS 10 and that percentage should go down in an instant

Just fill your iDevices up with 1gb files until you have 9.9gb of free space. That stops the automatic download. I use Golden Ears and throw 30 WAV files on my phone via iTunes. Then delete an album when I need more space. Works really well !

All the regrets-- Siri cannot recognize much of what I say, and then 'autocorrects' it to very wrong words. Response for tapping on screen very slow. Lots of lag. Everything just kinda sucks now.

Probably because they got tricked by that insane update dialog. That's some of the absolute worst UX I've ever seen from any company, let along Apple!

Now they started pushing a popup for the upgrade, I bet many people will be annoyed and will eventually give in.

Not only annoyed, but likely tricked if they don't read it carefully.

It used to be that you'd wait till at least the x.0.2 update to be safe, but given the decline of Apple, maybe that should be the 4th or 5th point update now?

I have had absolutely no problems with iOS 11. On my SE it’s very fast, very fluid, and very good battery life. I do know people who have had some strange problems but it’s been great for me.

Edit: I’m still going to wait for at least 11.1 for my Air 2 though.

iOS 11.1 beta 3 is running pretty nicely on my iPad Mini 4, overall.

But one really annoying bug is that it occasionally forgets the screen orientation can change. Once that happens, you have to power-cycle the device to fix it.

People upgrade either:
A they got aw3
B constant nagging from iOS to upgrade.

Shouldn’t have to be that way.

I wanted to make one iPad dedicated for over a 100 32-bit apps that I didn't to leave behind. One day, I was distracted and updated by accident. Can't go back since Apple doesn't sign their iOS 10 install. I wish I was one of those 45% that didn't do that.

I wish I would have filled up the iPad with movies so that there would be no space available to update.

I miss the good old days where Apple released extremely stable/well polished software. Now we get “good enough” versions and spend the rest of the year ironing out everything just in time to start all over again.

Sad that for those who want the new features and great stability, we essentially have to wait for 9.3, 10.3, and prob the upcoming 11.3 instead of the usual x.0 updates.

When users are either holding off an update or regret updating their devices, then something is very wrong with your new software update.

Smart move. Especially on old hardware, just dont upgrade as it will just slow your phone down.

I finally installed it on my main iPhone this week... I just want my wifi toggle back in CC please Apple.
Hmm, I just looked at my CC and see the toggle for wi-fi. What do you mean?

I don't read Reddit, so I don't know anything about the "thousands" of complaints about iOS 11. I installed it on my 7 and my wife's 6. No problems. Or am I missing something?
