Funny we see stuff like this now. Little hacks, little tricks, little hoops to jump through to get our phones in the state we want them... just... like.. android!

This is why I left android years ago.

Translation: iOS 11 now installed on 68% of eligible devices.

I'm now starting to look forward to complete puzzlement when it stalls out between "75" and "80" (aka 95%+ of eligible devices).

shows that unlike android, ppl actually have access to iOS updates

Ummmm.... so how come only 55% upgrade? It's not accessibility . People are learning that upgrading iOS on older devices means poor performance .

The macOS team should give them a few pointers, but I suspect it's working as intended to push sales.

So.... care to explain how you came to that conclusion?

I have personally always updated on the day the updates are released and never regretted it.

Never change, Apple.

Question: what's the longest you have kept your hardware? Very relevant . Own an iPhone 4S on iOS 9 or iPhone 5 on iOS 10?

That's all great, but what do you do when you are ready to install the 11 update? I've not seen any information on how to get back to a iOS profile once you've installed the tvOS profile

You simply delete the tvOS profile from settings.

Just fill your iDevices up with 1gb files until you have 9.9gb of free space. That stops the automatic download. I use Golden Ears and throw 30 WAV files on my phone via iTunes. Then delete an album when I need more space. Works really well !
Or just install a tvOS profile.

ADon’t upgrade to iOS 11 guys! Apple is crazy!!!!!
Touch ID is not working ever since I’ve updated the phone to iOS 11 and that’s not all.. apps crushing, freezing or not responding, phone overheating while charging, battery needs to be charged 2x a day or 3x if I’m using it, lock screen appears sideways sometimes, small scroll line at the bottom of the screen that doesn’t do anything etc. Updated to the latest ios 11.03 but no joy! Tried reset/erase everything set up as new doesn’t help! Restore nothing.. this is crazy!! I didn’t have any of these problems with iOS 10.3.3 wish I never upgraded!

One month after its official public release, iOS 11 has been installed on 54.49 percent of devices, according to data collected by analytics company Mixpanel.

iOS 11 was first released on September 19, and while adoption has been rather slow compared to iOS 10 adoption, it is steadily picking up. At the one week mark, iOS 11 was installed on 25 percent of devices, and at two weeks, installation climbed to 38.5 percent of devices.

At three weeks, iOS 11 adoption reached 47 percent, successfully overtaking iOS 10, and the gap between the two operating systems has continued to widen. With iOS 11 on nearly 55 percent of devices, iOS 10 is now installed on just 39.17 percent of devices. 6.34 percent of devices continue to run an older version of iOS.

Apple has released three minor updates to iOS 11 so far to address bugs and issues discovered since the launch of the new operating system. The most recent update, iOS 11.0.3, fixed an issue with haptic feedback and unresponsive displays, while iOS 11.0.2 addressed an irritating problem that caused the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus earpiece to crackle on phone calls.

iOS 11 adoption is likely to increase significantly when iOS 11.1 is released, if past iOS launches are any indication. Major .1 releases often spur people to update, and iOS 11.1 introduces new emojis and may include Apple Pay Cash, Apple's peer-to-peer Apple Pay feature. In past years, new emoji have had a noticeable impact on upgrade rates.

The iOS 11.1 update also fixes some lingering bugs, including one that caused Reachability to work improperly, and it addresses a serious WPA2 Wi-Fi vulnerability. It's not yet clear when Apple plans to release iOS 11.1, but there have been three betas thus far.

Let's celebrate?[/QU

What updates do you have access to? Can you downgrade your phone back to stable 10.3.3 after 11 ficked it up and apple don’t give a **** about it?!

I miss the good old days where Apple released extremely stable/well polished software. Now we get “good enough” versions and spend the rest of the year ironing out everything just in time to start all over again.

I literally have never seen any .0 iOS release not plagued with problems

On a side note, 50% of those updaters are considering purchasing a new apple phone to replace their now horribly sluggish device.

Both happening at same time doesn't mean one caused the other.
[doublepost=1508452313][/doublepost]

All the new features added are updates to apps. Apps get updated in Android devices too. You think normal people care about a new filesystem?

I see this argument so much. Why then, does Google make such a big fuss about a new version of Android with new features? Why isn't "Google Play Services" given the splashy new dessert-themed name and artwork?

You're right, though.

I only went to iOS 11 for the features Apple spent half their WWDC keynote on... you know, P2P Apple Pay Payments, iCloud Sync iMessages, and Single Sign On TV Provider functionality.

You can imagine how excited I am to have installed iOS 11. LOL 0 for 3. Guess Apple figures since they teased it in June then went crickets, they needed something to distract people at launch...

iOS 11 is 0 for 0 for me. No interest in Apple Pay, iCloud message sync (don't use iCloud) or TV stuff, which is US only service anyway (and I don't have any TV provider here anyway)

You don’t use iCloud? How do you sync personal photos and contacts between devices? Or even settings or notes or reminders.

iOS 11 is the worst iOS version in memory. Loaded with bugs, battery life killer, and stuttering UX performance.

My 6 Plus has gone from smooth performance and long battery life to an old phone in need of replacement. Funny that. It's almost like Apple wants me to upgrade.

I'm also dismayed by the UX effects decisions. Too much crap moving in different directions completely loses the impression of three dimensions.

I hope they fix it for 11.1 but I'm not expecting much.

As in 90% of those people were planning to update to a new device because the one they had was older and they wanted something newer.

I think 55% in one month is very bad considering the update is free and there is almost no work involved in updating.

Except the reduced battery life, iOS 11 is quite good imo
