Still on 10.3.3 on my 7. Looks like iOS 11 will get better once 11.1 is released.

Not really, I'm on the Beta program for developers and right now the only thing improved in the latest 11.1 Beta is the battery drain. I am using an iPhone 6 and the screen lag is very frustrating and almost unusable with the all of the 11 versions.

I am logging and sending in bug reports of the screen and will probably video the animations (way to aggressive and CPU/GPU intensive for the older model) in slo-mo and see if they will fix the issues for older models. Personally I would much rather still be on 10.3 and I have been recommending to my friends to NOT UPGRADE!!!!

In the nearly ten years we've had iPhones I have to admit this is the worst upgrade ever (not bugs just poorly planned for older models) from Apple for iOS. I think they built it for the new Pros and iPhone 8/X and someone forgot the depth of the device base back to model 6.

Because of this mess I have my calendar reminder set to place an order on the 27th for the X.

Update*****

My wife has 6s+ and today I found out she did an update and has 11.0.3 and it works perfectly on her iPhone. I scrolled, changed apps, videos, and just about everything I could think of, it works great!!!!!

I’m jealous.

I'm happily one of the majority of users still running a previous iOS version that still supports 32 bit apps which is way more users than iOS 11.

And Android Oreo, released a month earlier, sits at 0.2% adoption.
I'm using an LG G4 that went from 5.1 to 6.0 (Marshmallow). I'm probably not going to be able to get 7.x, nor 8.x, but yet, I don't care. My phone already does everything I'd like it to. Unlike iOS, I get first party updates independently (e.g. Chrome, Maps, Gmail), and those still happen, along with security updates.

Also, I don't update OSes just because I can. I'm still on Windows 7 on my home computer, not win10.
My Ipad Air is still on ios8, and Ipod Touch is still on ios7.
I know some folks are seeking fixes and features (e.g., ios4 on my IpT3 to create folders, and ios5 for Game Center), but I'm generally puzzled why some folks go ape s@#$ crazy with day 1 updates. This statement isn't just limited to iOS, but ALL OSes.

You don’t get security updates. Only ones Google Play Services can update, which excludes all the serious exploits.

All those people I know who have never complained over iOS upgrades in the past are ALL complaining now.
They know me to ALWAYS be an early adapter and call me to ask if I have any solutions...

My answer with iOS 11 --- is very loud and clear.... I am still on iOS 10, for a good reason !

Since iOS 9 and macOS Yosemite

I dont install ANY Apple OS be that macOS or iOS prior to 3 months after release at the earliest.

The days are gone where Apple released stable software. Just GONE !

That's exactly what you said. Our discourse has nothing to do with your exchange with john123. Our discourse is strictly about your exchange with Ds6778. You seem to be conflating two separate exchanges into a unified conversation.

I agree completely. One person having an issue does not mean everyone does. Your error was making that accusation against a quote that doesn't imply what you're stating. Ds6778 made no generalized statement about iOS11. He made a very specific statement about how it related to him.

Do you ever make comments directed towards a person based on their history? Or only on the one specific thing they said at that time?

Or should I forget things I’ve heard people say before?

All devices report back to the circular mother ship.
This information doesn't come from Apple.

Exactly, this has been the buggiest releases I have ever seen.
Something that various people have said about many iOS releases in the past.

At the moment that total seems to be about 6% more users essentially.

Are you asking if I have made the mistake of judging one thing unfairly based on something else totally unrelated? Maybe. But I'd like to think I'd own it, instead of claiming I didn't do it. The guy was talking about himself and his experience only.

Close enough. Citing how horrible lack of OS updates on Android is like saying how awful the iOS "walled garden" is.... yes, they are concerns that both types of users need to deal with. However, if those respective issues were THAT bad, then they would've jumped ship. Some have, while some continue to stick around.

The willful ignorance of some "fanboys" on these forums is staggering. I love the responses like "I have absolutely zero issues whatsoever" or " People just like to complain here." Like somehow, if you've been using Apple products for a long time, your opinion holds more gravitas then anyone else. True Apple fans, not fanboys, will call Apple out when we see fit.

I literally said "I." There is plenty of evidence supporting my claims but I'm sure you have had "Zero issues." Good for you.
The willful ignorance of those who feel entitled to a superior opinion and a freedom to criticize Apple unjustly (this has not been the most buggy release) is staggering.

It makes perfect sense to me. It’s primarily an under the hood release geared both toward developers and geared toward improving features that are already there from an iPhone owners perspective. On the other hand it’s a huge release with great new features from an iPad owners perspective.

If I wasn’t a public beta tester on both devices I wouldn’t have rushed to install 11 right out of the gate on my iPhone and would have held off for an 11.0.1 or later release to give Apple time to address the most egregious bugs that are inevitably part of the first public release of an OS. The iPad would’ve been different and I would have installed it within a few of days of its release because the benefit of using the new features would’ve outweighed the risk of encountering a major bug.

Still on 10.3.3
Ill wait for further revisions.
Installed all, each update seems to run better. No major issues. I always feel like Apple takes good care. Better with updates than anyone else.

Why do complainers and people with problems have right to say they do on here yet when others report things working fine, they take offense. It’s quite possible that some have issues while others don’t. Who know what may or may not have been corrupted, or what set up with apps on one phone have issues while others don’t.

It’s not a contest, and reporting of good and bad does not negate or condem the opposite reports.

bit the bullet when 11.01 came out. Have not had any real issues and the battery usage seems fine on my 6s+.

Lol what? I have said it was my personal opinion more then a few times..... also, never said it was a “superior” argument. Try again. Also love how you’re accusing me of something you’re doing....

People will put up with different things. An issue for one person becomes an overriding concern, while insignificant to another person. We all vote with our wallets. If you don’t get hacked or phished, or virus infected then lack of timely updates isn’t a big deal. For others, having robust updates gives peace of mind.

I for one will continue to report good and bad. The fact that so far any bad has been inconsequential to me is a blessing, knock on wood.. I don’t care if anyone does or does not change platforms. I like IOS and iPhone, don’t really care if others do or don’t. It works for me, always has. My history of problems with products and software other than Apple keeps me buying and using Apple. iPhones, macs, iPads, etc.

Do I like every business decision Apple has made. No, I think not continuing with monitors, and airport WiFi products is a disappointment to me. As these products have served me well. Do I like costs of products going up? No, but name me anything that has gone down in price from any companies.

The “guy” has made broad sweeping statements NOT about his own experience in the past.

I’ll ask again: should I ignore previous comments and confine mine to a single post?

I am on the latest, and they still have not fixed the STINKING spinning data activity wheel that SPINS all the time. ALL the time. Its just an eye sore. Many may not even notice, but most techies will.

Yes. Yes you should. Especially when there is no indicator, none whatsoever, that you are referencing something other than that specific post. How exactly is someone to know you're discussing something other than the post you're commenting on? Are we supposed to be clairvoyant? Cuz there's no indicator in your response that says you're relying on anything other than what he said in that particular post.

If someone makes broad sweeping statements it makes a hell of a lot more sense to address those broad sweeping statements using a comment that actually has them. If I say A, B, and C it makes no sense for you to reply with an answer to D, E, and F that I said at some other time.
