IF this means I can disable the stupid way Apple has you delete apps now, I'm all for it. So many times I've found the apps jiggling by accident with the little x's in the upper right hand corner of the icons. I've lost some critical business information to that stupid method which is way too easy to happen with a touch screen. Then I disable it, but then it's a pain in the ass to remember where to turn it back on when needed.

Moving the updates to the profile is a horrible move. Arcade should either be under the games tab, or in a separate app.

I thought so too until I realized it wasn't moved to iCloud profile in settings, just the profile section within the App Store, right? It makes sense that they want to draw attention to the new Arcade service for now.

As long press is now implemented (in parallel to 3D touch at the moment), you have to hold the icons for absolutely ages now to get the delete-wiggle-x thing. Not something that you're likely to do by mistake.

yet magic things still happen in one's pocket. It still happens.

That was the first thing that came to my mind, too.

Though that might be true, I believe it’s more important to have access to the updates than both the arcade AND games from the main view. Since Arcade only has games, why not merge those two, and leave Updates in the toolbar?

Because they are not the same thing. Arcade is a new service and will have different listings then games you can buy.

Should probably be under Settings, too honestly. I do like this over having to find where the app is actually positioned. I hardly pan screens for apps...I just use Spotlight.

I remember back in 2007 and early on you could customize the iPod app on the iPhone and rearrange the bottom buttons to your preferences. You could even swap out certain parts for others. I’d love to swap out all the tim Apple Music crap that I don’t use to show playlists, artists, etc rather than “for you”, browse, and radio. Be nice to expand those options to the App Store as well, but I wouldn’t count on it since they push their services down your throat now.

After some thought, I think moving app updates to the account section in the top right is a more organized and logical. Now all the tabs at the bottom are for navigating your way around the App Store.

Yes, completely agree with you. My two reasons for clicking on Apps icon is checking for updates, and search for a specific app, thus Arcade, and games never interested me, aLso do not use Today tab.

Okay, for the first time tried the Today tab. Uh, junky stuff in there for wasting time. Clicked Games, not at all interested in playing any of those games, nor would I pay for any, again a waste of my time.

These tabs Today, Games, Apps is too much fluff, mind numbing waste of time, busy stuff accomplishing nothing productive nor worthwhile. They do not enrich ones life, do not put money in the pocket, nor make one smarter. There are better things to do than sit in a chair for hours on end playing games, and from that lack of movement mobility getting osteopenia. Fast access to Updates and Search is what I want.

I decided to delete my Facebook and Twitter profile all-together. I can't still view things on Facebook when it's required (some restaurants etc only have Facebook pages...) and I can still read Tweet's when needed.

Good riddance. Some family members wondered what was going on as I suddenly disappeared, but most have gotten used to having to use iMessage or Telegram to message me instead.

Trying to cut all my connections to Google as well, but that's a bit tougher. DuckDuckGo is just not as good as Google Search, and there is no way I can stop using my YouTube account... What I have done in-terms of YouTube is to create a dummy account with a nonsensical e-mail without any of my personal information associated with the account.

Tip, use startpage.com, it's got Google results with all G-crap.

That's why you should always use a VPN of some sort. I have NordVPN proxy in my web-browser, and have always-on VPN on my Mac, iPhone and iPad. The VPN helps you being protected from man-in-the-middle attacks as well.

Erm, NordVPN doesn't filter the things you think it filters, it's a true VPN service, not a content blocker.
Use Little snitch and/or Gasmask, and a content blocker. (Apps for Mac)

I said I wouldn't do it, but now I totally want the public beta on my phone. I want to check out the new CarPlay and the slew of features - seems like a great update this year, I thought it would have been kind of meh, but I'm impressed right across the board!

That's what we call a QOL (quality of life) update. For sure some devs are going to complain, but at this stage, are their apps really used?

Now one feature that has been requested for a long time is the "delete cache" of specific apps. Some of them already allow to do it, as far as I know, but it should be a system-wide, mandatory feature for all apps approved by the AppStore.
Because you know, apps like Facebook or Messenger take a lot of space after a while. At the moment you can delete the app while keeping your cached info, so when you download it again it's working as usual. Why can't the opposite be true? Sometimes I want to keep using the app, but not its 500 MB use. Let's start fresh again.

So many small quality of life improvements in iOS 13 and BETA'1 is running better than any previous x.1 BETA'1 I've tested. Looking really good so far.

How’s your Siri?
I’m getting a mix of different Siri voices for different things.

And my voice has been “downloading” for over 2 days...

I find it incredibly frustrating that they have hidden the updates page. On my iPhone I refresh the App Store updates page 2-3 times a day. If I don't do that I get updates days after they were released.

I sometimes see updates on my iPad for apps that I updated days earlier on my iPhone.

You know what is really annoying, deleting one page Safari cache page, for instance when a news site only allows you a few views, after that you can't read more.
Here it goes:

1: Open Settings
2: Scroll down to Safari
3: Open it
4: Scroll down to Advanced
5: Open it
6: Open Website Data
7: Search for the cache you want to delete (Type in xyzz site)
8: Tap edit
9: Tap on the symbol next to the site
10: Tap delete

Next if you want to go back to Settings

11: Tap done
12: Tap Cancel
13: Tap Advanced
14: Tap Safari
15: Tap Settings
16: Exit Settings
17: Open Safari again

That's awesome, users can delete apps if they push an update they don't, immediately.

"This update removes <features you use> and adds <'better' feature> to make your work flow easier"

*Deletes App*

Beautiful!

WWDC was exceptional this year, except for the $999 thingy.;)

You bring up a good point, it takes quite a bit of tasks to accomplish a simple thing. Deleting cache isn't anything special, it is incredibly easy on pretty much any desktop browser, you don't have to leave the context of the program.

/*start strike through*/I'm sure you know this, but you could search for the setting in the settings app(maybe spotlight?), reducing the number of steps you'd have to take. I understand you probably did that to prove you point though./*end strike through*/

Edit:
I was incorrect... I assumed you could search for it through setting, my apologies.

This should really be addressed.

It should be possible to do this on the page in Safari itself, just an idea...hey Apple..are you reading this.

Anyone on iOS 13 beta want to check to see if the app listings under Settings might have also gained a Delete App button? I'd filed a Feature Suggestion to do so, considering that if I can't seem to FIND an app in Springboard, they ALL should be listed under the list in Settings, and it would be nicely easy to simply go there, find the app alphabetically, and Delete it. My Feature Request also included that every app be listed in the Settings list, and that each entry include the basic app information like version, developer, and clickable URL to a webpage about the app (even if that's the App Store link). (Given Apple's current stance, I'd now suggest a clickable link to the developer's Privacy and Data Collection Policy too.)
