You bring up a good point, it takes quite a bit of tasks to accomplish a simple thing. Deleting cache isn't anything special, it is incredibly easy on pretty much any desktop browser, you don't have to leave the context of the program.

I'm sure you know this, but you could search for the setting in the settings app(maybe spotlight?), reducing the number of steps you'd have to take. I understand you probably did that to prove you point though.

Erm.... No... what do I type in the search field, I can get to Safari settings, not cache.

Cheers

That was the first thing that came to my mind, too.

Though that might be true, I believe it’s more important to have access to the updates than both the arcade AND games from the main view. Since Arcade only has games, why not merge those two, and leave Updates in the toolbar?

Yes please add feedback to this all beta testers. Hopefully there might be a miniscule chance that they change it before the final release.

When you just updated Facebook and it pops up in the update section again the next day and you just delete it entirely... I’m loving iOS 13 already!

Updates should be under settings, why combine it with the Appstore, I have no interest in looking at the Today Tab at all, yet it opens by default, it makes no sense for the majority of iPhone Users, I amongst others use the Updates and search mode, last one (search) not even that many times.

My vite has ways been to have Settings > Apps (rather than onelong list)

Put Delete and Update along with off load, delete cache, and sort apps by Size, last updated, plus show version.

The Search in App Store doesn't "remember" previous searches. I only use App Store to install or update the rest . ..

AnAoption to turn off auto update for an app would be welcome. Moving update to profile tomake way for Arcade is not a needed improvement. Adding Uninstall here is okay but Settings is still a mess but is where Delete should also exist

What I have done in-terms of YouTube is to create a dummy account with a nonsensical e-mail without any of my personal information associated with the account.

Are you using a VPN too? IP logs can easily associate your bogus account with you.

id like a method to clear app cache, instagram has more than tripled its size because of the cache. I end up reinstalling it but there are just so many apps that do it.

I could see Apple breaking up the App Store at some point into multiple apps, much like they have done with iTunes. Right now a separate gaming app makes sense. It would be like Game Center (which no longer has an app, but still has functionality within apps) but not suck. They could just call it Apple Arcade, and the service could be called Apple Arcade+. They could remove the gaming section from the main App Store app, and then put it in there, with even more curated content from the editorial team and expanded things like behind the scenes video content, concept artwork, wallpapers from our favorite games, the ability to buy or play game soundtracks straight from Apple Music, and more. They could also add Discord-like functionality, with the ability to live stream or hook into existing live streaming services like Twitch. There could also be a games library section, where you could setup collections and maybe a pinned or favorites list. It could be like the equivalent of Steam or something but for mobile. Maybe it could even curate content from other providers, like the TV app does, and provide results from Microsoft, Playstation, and Google's new game streaming services, with links right into those apps and libraries.

Anyway, I'd like the option to have Arcade there or the Updates tab. I check the updates tab every night before bed to see what has been updated recently. It will be more annoying to get to it now, but it will also be better for quickly deleting the crap that I either never use, or the apps that I don't use very often but still annoy me with how many updates they push through every week, which uses up data and battery when taken as a whole. This will help me to overcome my app hoarding tendencies, as there have been so many times I just wanted to swipe away all the garbage when checking my updates.

You know what they should do? Either remove search and have pull down to search, or put the updates icon next to our profile photo at the top so it's still one tap away. I think the second option might be better. Does anyone know if the Updates tab is gone from the iPad? You'd think there would be enough room at the bottom to keep it around, even with Apple Arcade.

I will say though, that out of all the new services Apple has shown so far, Apple Arcade is the one that I am most likely to sign up for. I love the idea of supporting developers without having pay-to-win and freemium garbage hurting the experience. I hope that it brings about a gaming renaissance on the App Store. After the bright start, lately it has felt like the dark ages and I don't game on iOS much at all any more.

Love the "delete Facebook" example! I deleted my Facebook account complete two months ago. Should have done that years ago.

They need to add the ability to permanently delete apps from your app store account. Not just hide them. There's too much junk you try, hate and will never use again. Also free apps for financial institutions or service providers you no longer use. It's always made me weary of what apps I even try. Since I can't just permanently remove them.

I recall reading once that you can call them to get something removed. That is way to convoluted.

Was this really worthy of a new thread? Are we going to have a new one for every little iOS 13 feature because we could potentially have hundreds.

Really like the idea of the delete feature from App Update. What I would really like is a way to figure out what folder I put an app and take me directly to it.

This won't take you to the folder but you can find what folder it is in by doing a spotlight search for the app name. The folder name shows up on the right.
