Lots of little UI quirks on my iPhone 14 Pro Max on iOS 16.1. Mainly around the search bar in App Library being too high or the dynamic island covering part of the top. Like the UI keeps shifting up.

Anyone’s Monzo app suddenly stopped working? Crashing on launch for me. Has worked fine throughout all of beta 16 but 16.1 seems to have broken it.

Can you test if the island shifts down when you use reachability?

Fine for me. Both the release and TestFlight builds work fine

You go for it man. That first smell of the new tech when the box opens 😍😜

Let us know if it does fixes the activation bug as well

Not sure you can get 16.1 on the 14s yet…. That model isn’t showing up in the dev portal for IPSWs. Maybe beta 2.

Hmmmm 🤔

Prolly can still install it through OTA and IPSW should be up next week unless beta 2 also drops too with it
During setup, I was asked if I wanted to continue with the beta program. It then downloaded a “16.0” delta around 325-350mb (I forget), and continued with setup.

It did seem to activate my eSIM just fine on VZW.

As for the rest… well… we’ve been here over an hour on device-device restore… (pardon my cat fur life). If I don’t get an estimate or a blip on the progress meter in the next hour, I’m gonna cancel and restore from last night’s iCloud backup. I’ll just have to redownload all my music (and sign back in to all of my twitter accounts).

I did phone to phone transfer and took less time than iCloud restore.

Something's wrong there. I got an immediate time estimate (59 minutes) and its been counting down since.

Update. If you’re on 16.1 and doing anything but device to device, you’re gonna have to upgrade to 16.1, reset, and then restore again. Just like always. Grr.

I’ll try again once I get 16.1 on the 14PM. Maybe that was the hang up the first time. However we are talking like 750gb of data.

Update: Updating to 16.1 first has allowed the device to device transfer to begin, and we’re only quoted at 3 hours, as well.

I chose to do that also, over WiFi. Seemed to be the faster method. Took about 30 minutes including getting my watch paired which immediately saw the new phone while I was wearing it and had the pairing option on the screen.

iPadOS 16.1 slide over is completely unusable. Been like that for a full month. Specifically, whenever I call slide over, they’re a solid chance I can no longer swipe to dismiss it, and app acts extremely laggy. If I connect my iPad to Magic Keyboard, I can escape the situation somewhat. But otherwise I need to force a restart (all swipes are ignored) before the system is back to normal temporarily.

I can’t wait to install ipados 16.1 when it’s released just so that I can send my ipad to apple for diagnostics.

So you can just pair the watch to the new phone without having to unpair and re-pair. I honestly didn’t know. Ugh

Yeah. The screen on the watch goes in to that circle progress thing but only takes maybe a couple of minutes.

So it took the read about the beta programme because your old phone had a profile present, do we think?

And to confirm your old phone was on iOS 16 and your 14 was on an old build of 16?
