iPhone 14 pro max on beta 5 always have some lag , especially when swiping up to close app some time have that lag or hesitate pulse , not every time but a lot of times. Also wake up from always on display some time also have lag , and every jump and skip the animation!

When I installed beta 4, I had a lot of cellular drops out with my Pro 14 and Verizon. Can anyone with this combo comment on the cellular stability?
I'm a Verizon customer with a 14PM. I didn't have cellular drops on beta 4 and don't have them on beta 5. Sorry you are, and I hope beta 5 fixes them for you.

Anyone else w/ a 14 Pro Max having issues with the Power Off sound not playing when enabled but Power On sound is playing correctly?
Yes. The power off sound hasn't worked on my 14PM since beta 3.

Anyone else feel that battery life is still not on par with iOS 15.6.1/15.7 and that iOS 16 even on 16.1 beta 5 still feels so broken in many areas? My iPhone 13 Pro Max with 100% battery health has easily lost 2+ hours of screen on time since iOS 16. Every beta it marginally improves but it is still not how it once was, regardless of settings etc. Full wipe and dfu restore as well with no change. Hoping things improve as I really love the new features of iOS 16 but those extra few hours of battery life outweigh all that. I may downgrade to iOS 15.7 until more polishing gets done with iOS 16.
I'm using a 14PM and I've never had the opportunity to run 15.7 on it.

That said, battery life on 16.1b5 for me is pretty good, and much better than beta4. Still some room for improvement, though.

I had the same issues on beta 4 but beta 5 seems to be fixed. iPhone 14 PM on Verizon

If the iPhone keeps doing a reboot cycle every 10 seconds, often recovery mode is needed, and you don't even lose your data if you do it properly. But if it still does it even after reinstalling the firmware, you will need a full reset as obviously something would be wrong with your data.

Or, as in this case, he's getting his phone replaced.
Thanks for trying to help me out I thought it was best in the end just to get it straight replaced instead of all the messaging around. Out of curiosity what could have caused this kind of behaviour? Never had any of my other iPhones do this.

You're welcome. And honestly, from my experience so far an iPhone in a boot loop was always a hardware defect and had to be replaced. It could in theory be anything else which a factory reset or a firmware reinstall could fix, but I've never seen that actually happen so far.

iPhone 13, after a couple of days using I can say I'm experiencing a massive battery life improvement with this beta. Still not back to what it was on iOS 15, but with previous iOS 16 versions I was getting 3 hours of SOT at best before getting into the red (it was really that bad and an erase didn't fix it). I'm back to charging once a day without the top-ups throughout the day I needed before beta 5.

I had to turn off the always on display and remove all Lock Screen widgets especially the weather one (from both Lock Screen and Home Screen) to counter the abysmal battery life on the 14 Pro.

Now the battery life seems massively better. Plus it feels great not having the AOD distracting me at all times. Refreshing.

Getting pretty excellent battery life here on 13 mini. Scrolling/onscreen motion also appears to be better tuned, which I hope Apple can keep up through the public release and beyond.

😆😂😆😂😆😂😆

More trouble than it’s worth right now. Especially on betas. Once it comes out of beta, I’ll turn it on. Love it’s function.
It makes my connection slow somtimes heh. How long has it bin in beta ?

Hate to say it, but 16.1 Beta 5 feels like a real dog. Seeing some nasty Wifi and 5G+ data lags, some graphical delays from the native OS, plus some real data churn / lag when pulling up some more complex stuff (like route calculation on Maps / G Maps). Whatever they did from 16.0 to 16.1 (heck 16.1 Beta 1 to now), its balance has turned to crap.

Using an iPhone 12 PM - no problems when using 16.0.

iPhone 14 pro max. With this beta im noticing some keyboard lag when typing any app. Not all the time but noticable.
Same here on 13 mini. It’s like the keyboard randomly takes a while to wake up and “realize” I’m typing.
