Can anyone help me my iPhone 14 plus just keeps continuously rebooting? Non stop nothing I can do to stop it? Should I call Apple for a replacement? Have tried everything to fix it still happening. Worried that the issue might occur with replacement. Why is this happening? Have never experienced this with any iPhone before. Phone is rebooting every 10 secs. It’s like the phone is stuck in some reboot mode. Phone was fine before I updated to the latest version. I do not understand how this can happen. If anyone can get to me with some advice on what to do would really appreciate it.

Try to put it in recovery mode and restore it to factory settings. If it still does it, it needs to be replaced.

Curious, which device are you running it on? I wouldn’t say battery is absolute trash like iOS 16.0 beta 1 style, but it is definitely not close to 15.7 levels which is rather disappointing on a brand new 13 pro max that I could squeeze 2 days of use out of prior. What’s up with apple’s software QC these days?

I have wondered the same thing. I’ve spent countless hours trying to optimize settings and have even restored/set up from scratch multiple times hoping to achieve the battery life others seem to have. So far no luck. I’m working with a year old 13 Pro that use to easily make it through a day and now struggles to make it to 5 hours screen on time. I’m out of ideas. Just hoping Apple figures out a solution to whatever combination of factors is causing this experience on my device.

Don’t stress to much about it guys, your on a beta so you can’t really make any comparisons to official release software until your on 16.1.

Your battery’s will be up and down, nature of the beta and what different apps you have on your devices.

End of the day, use your battery, enjoy your phone, and when it hits red, charge it up, repeat, repeat, repeat…

Spoken like a beta king and Apple king

Yeah, betas will have extra logging and processes running in the background that won't be available on the regular release. It's "normal" to expect your battery to drain (in some cases MUCH) faster than when on a regular release.

If you’ve got a 16.0.3 encrypted back up to your computer, yes.

Download the IPSW file, on a Mac hold option, click restore, select the IPSW file, then when prompted select your 16.0.3 back up.

Done 👍🏼
Thanks, but what i actually wanted to ask was that is it possible to downgrade without having to restore from the backup. In all the likelihood it looks like the all the data gets erased while downgrading and data needs to be restored via itunes backup or icloud backup.

I think it's possible to "Update" down to a lower version, like from 16.1 beta to 16.0.3, but then as to your Data Loss question? That's more of a YMMV sort of thing. You would do the same thing @Pearsey said, accept choose Update as opposed to Restore. Obviously you'd have a backup before hand, too...

Why do people always assume the problem is with Apple and not their own setups? And I would venture to say that you can never judge battery life in any beta build. I know we all do but that is really not fair. The only place battery life may truly be judged is on released software.

Directed to no one in particular: I’m going to stop pushing the Help thread. Does no good. I realize it’s a bit of extra work to move questions over there but would save us all from seeing 10+ posts sub-discussions about some obscure issue one user has.

I tried.

here's what i would do, i hope you have a backup, download current iPhone 14 plus IPSW file, connect your iphone to your computer, press side button and lower volume button together, shut it down. DFU restore your phone, restore backup. done. I've done this all my iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, just want to have a clean start.

App Store

Went in to do a manual update when one of my apps asked for the newer version.
Well, Auto Update wasn't apparently working.

But it is slow. Like cold syrup slow. Works just fine at turtle speed.

Not that I’m aware of as I tested doing so which flagged an error for the quick tethered hold option key down method.

Only way to get back, is a restore. That I know of. RC will be out Tuesday, just sit tight.

Can I ask why you put it in DFU mode?

You can just click the restore button. And you can restore from a back up option too. No need for DFU.

Got a Mac?

Download the IPSW file your on.
Plug into a Mac, finder
Encrypted back up just incase.
Hold option
Click check for up date button
Select the IPSW file

This will delete and install the iOS only again. Your data’s safe and not touched.

For some reason and I’ve tested this, you do the IPSW file option key to down grade from 16.1 to lower. It flags an error. Something in the 16.1 architecture must have been changed I’m guessing that can only be changed with a restore.

Maybe because it’s being missed. People just seeing the 16.1 beta they are on and clicking there 🤷🏽

Think it’s a good idea Bat man 😉

Hold your horses.

You can reinstall the iOS before any drastic restores and recovery modes need to be done.

If the iPhone keeps doing a reboot cycle every 10 seconds, often recovery mode is needed, and you don't even lose your data if you do it properly. But if it still does it even after reinstalling the firmware, you will need a full reset as obviously something would be wrong with your data.

Or, as in this case, he's getting his phone replaced.
