Were we always able to change the order of your Apple Pay cards in wallet or is this new to 16.1? Before you could only choose a default card which would move to the front, but you weren’t able to edit the other cards order if I remember correctly.
I have always been able to move them around on iOS. On watchOS you can’t however.

After updating to beta 5 my iMessage and FaceTime was off. I turn on and I have this new feature “Live captions”. Anyone can explain what it is?

I was always able to do that!

I have an issue that I'm not sure started with this beta. About 25% of the time when I put i my airpod pro 2s they connect to my iPhone 14 pro max but when I hit play in Spotify the sound comes out of the phone. I have to go to the pulldown menu and switch it to Airpods. Not a show stopper but can be annoying when I hit play and people around me might get interrupted. I do have it set to automatic in settings.

We’re getting some pretty gnarly wind/rain right now and I noticed this issue on my lockscreen. Any precipitation condition will remove the temperature from both weather locations (above and below the clock). I had to switch my UV Index widget over to temperature to see what it is outside.

Live captions will literally close caption calls made with FaceTime (or, for that matter) any other call with services like Zoom (not sure if it works for plain ol' telephone calls; I need to try that!). Its not perfect, but if you are even a little hard of hearing, it can help you keep track of what is being said. I tried it on a Zoom call last week and it did passably well. I'm sure it will only get better. If you want to use if, go to Settings>Accessibility and you will find the toggle at the bottom of the Hearing section (about 3/4 of the way down the page). Expand the setting (by clicking on it) and then you can toggle on / off the Live Captions and you can also toggle on whether it always appears in FaceTime.

I'd like it better if you could save the output (really just a running "Siri dictation session"), but as far as I can tell, you cannot do so (yet).

Battery life has been solid for me on my 14 Pro.

This is also happening to me since beta 4.

The messages app keeps forgetting which message thread I was last in.

On leaving the app and using other apps for a while it happens. When I go back in to messages it just shows a list of all the message threads as if the app just forgot it’s previous state and reloaded fresh.

Anyone notice this? I had it in beta 4 too.

Yellow screen was the biggest complaint in previous versions. And the screen for me remained yellow more or less under all kinds of lighting. But this time that is not the case.

Screen changes colour from warm (not yellow) to white and vice versa under different lighting. And i like it

What device are you using?
Still adds a yellow tone to my 13 ProMax

Same here on iphone xs but only when in light mode. When in dark mode the sun is yellow.
Must mean the sun is going to blow up only during the day. 🤣 🤣🤣
I recall this happening within the past few years and was obviously corrected before a final version was released.

Swiping up to go home is thankfully much improved in terms of that stutter animation we were seeing. Also, the tab switcher in safari is no longer super jittery. Noticing a lot of squared notifications on the Lock Screen when first waking up and then they go away quickly. This has been present since 16.0.1 on my iPhone 14 pro. However it is much more frequent with this beta.

I always tried in the watch app and you can’t do it. Since you replied I know now that you can do it on the watch itself. Thanks for the info
I actually just discovered a few days ago that you can go into the Wallet app on the watch and hold your finger on the cards to move them around.

Before iOS 16, you could change the order by going to the Watch app on iPhone and set the default card over and over again by selecting the cards in order you wanted them to appear, and they would stay. This method still changes the order, but after a little bit the order resets.

The touch and hold method seems to work as you would expect.

There isn’t a watchOS thread so I’ll put this question/comment here. Why is it that you have to be on WiFi and a charger to update the Apple Watch? You would think that because you can use cellular to update the phone that you could do the same with the watch as long as it is over 50% charged. I routinely update my phone while I am out and about but get annoyed that I have to wait until I get home or work to update the watch.

I think it's most likely because if an update got interrupted, there's no way to recover the watch at home and has to get sent back to Apple to fix. You can always put the iPhone into DFU mode and connect it to the computer and it mostly will recover.

subtitles for your FaceTime calls... supposed to be processed on device. Pretty sure it's been there all of 16.1 (maybe even all of iOS 16) but you don't notice unless you go into FaceTime settings because it defaults to OFF.

I noticed it earlier when I added a 2nd line to my 14 PM and wanted to adjust the settings for FaceTime

Yes it’s definitely been there all of 16.

Mine are the same brown/orange for whatever reason in this beta. But only in the hourly conditions. Same as your pic.

Yep same here. Only light mode.
