It worked on my old 13 Pro and my 14 Pro.
Damn. Let me ask you this: do you have the always-on display turned on on the 14 Pro?

I'm asking because I sleep with my 14 Pro on my nightstand and when I wake up the display is completely off (I have always-on turned on, but it eventually turns off if you haven't touched the phone in several hours) and light mode is active.

However, I'm wondering if dark mode doesn't trigger automatically because the always-on display never goes totally dark since I'm usually using my phone a ton around sunset. Maybe today I'll try keeping the phone in my pocket or face down for a few minutes before and after sunset. Thinking that maybe if the always on-display isn't active, dark mode will trigger properly.

I have lots of playlists and music I uploaded to iCloud Music Library. I’m always nervous that something will get effed up if I delete and reinstall the app or sign out of iCloud. AM sometimes is very weird for me. The other day in one of my playlists some of the songs were showing what appeared to be a list of songwriters instead of the band name. But it wasn’t all the songs from the same album or artist, it was random.

Take comfort in that your data won’t be deleted if you were to “offload” the app and reinstall it.

But If you delete the app though, that’s a different story. See attached.

Interesting. It changed to dark mode on its own tonight when my phone was in my pocket.

Ha, it’s the only reason I still use a laptop. There’s no way to add music to iCloud other than desktop iTunes.
You can export/import your playlist in iTunes. I always did that to have a backup back in the day when I had a ton of custom playlists. It also allows for importing your backed up file. May give that a try with a sample playlist and see how that works. Good to have a backup anyway. Under file>library menu

OT*, but @gank41, how is the Ventura RC2 working out? Any more crashes?

*(the Mac forums are a ghost town compared to the iOS forums)

I think I’m going on roughly 10 or so hours of uptime. I’ve disabled iStat Menus and uninstalled a handful of other apps. I’m also repurposing a WD Elements drive for my Time Machine drive instead of the passport drive So having a powered drive might help. I think a clean install would unfortunately do me some good, too. I’m pretty OCD when it comes to what I install and stuff, but it’s been a while now I guess? Still a great laptop. I’m sure it’ll get better.

I've been having a pretty flawless experience using RC2 on my new M1 MBA :) It's a base model because I'm basic

Which model are you using?

Also, yeah, @gwhizkids, what's up with the state of the Mac forums on here? I've been flipping through them over the past two days and it's pretty saddening...

I’m not sure but those forums just don’t seem like the go-to locations for Mac info. Maybe they languished while the Mac languished C and have not recovered yet. Not sure where people are posting the same kind of stuff, though. Maybe Reddit….

Small bug on my 13PM. If the AirPods connected, I see my last listend music on the lock screen. Normally you can swipe the albums to choose another, older one. But its fix,.. no swiping!

Anyone else?

Honestly if Apple wants iPad to be a laptop replacement then it would be nice if they offered a desktop class version of the music app.

Major bug detected - not sure if this was introduced with 16.1 but I never noticed this before the updating. NONE of my passes in my wallet on my phone are showing up in the wallet on my Apple Watch. They are all clearly there on my phone though. The only thing my watch shows there are whichever cards I have available for Apple Pay. The setting is set for my watch to “mirror” my phone so all available passes should be accessible from either device.

AMAZING, just caught that RC2 was out. It definitely doesn't feel as smooth as the previous OS the RC. And my Adobe CS workspaces keep disappearing with stage manager on. Little annoying. Anyway, nice one 👍🏼 downloading.

Edit: interesting, RC was 5gigs. RC2 full install 12.12gigs. M1 MBP. Hope this clears some things up being a full reinstall.

Edit2: much like a reinstall using the IPSW file, that’s made a difference to my MBP. A fresh install has put it back to its snappiness like Monterey.

Unfortunately battery life is atrocious for me. Massive drain all the time. Especially visible at night if not connected to a charger. Dropping from 80 to 25 percent in approx 7 hrs.

No weird stats showing up in battery overview.

Have you tried a hard restart of your phone?

I just checked on my S7 Apple Watch and have all of my cards & passes listed in the Wallet app there, which mirrors my iPhone 14 Pro Max. If everything still looks correct on your phone, I'd suggest a hard reboot of your watch. Hold down both the side lock button & the digital crown button until you see the Apple Logo, then let go. During the earlier betas I was having an issue where my wireless wasn't working at all, like, there wasn't even a Wireless section in Settings on the watch. A couple reboots would "fix" it. During another one of the betas, 3rd party Apple Watch complications weren't working for some people, but a couple reboots would "fix" it.

I would suspect it's some kind of communication issue between the watch and the phone, and usually the only way to really "fix" something like that (probably, hopefully not, temporarily) would be to reboot both devices, knowing each device's normal startup OS type stuff happens.. Then they should see each other, connect, and then reconcile any differences, like your wallet app.

So far on RC2 I'm at almost 20 hours of uptime! It's a Christmas miracle 😆 I've got the 2020 M1 MBP 16GB/2TB model.
When I got this that November, I seriously should have stayed on THAT version of Big Sur for a while.. It really felt like I could throw anything and everything at it and never worry about any of the apps freezing up, let alone a crash/reboot. Now I'm afraid to open a couple apps at a time, let alone rely on it to use Logic Pro or Final Cut. At least with any of my external drives connected. I've been switching back and forth just connecting/reconnecting each external Time Machine drive as to keep power connected, too.. Getting better.

Rebooting didn’t seem to help but I was able to workaround this by texting myself some passes and then opening those texts on the Apple Watch.
I don’t do Apple Watch betas but if we’re getting a new watchOS this week maybe an update will do the trick

How do I get the sports alerts live activities to show up on my 13 Home Screen?
You need to have an app installed that has been updated to the 16.1 SDK that supports this. There's an entire thread here with a list of current apps that support this, including sports apps.

This is the part that keeps me from trying it. At least with a regular update, I know I'm getting it from Apple.
The IPSW file will always be checked to see if they’re genuine before the actual update takes place. If they’re tampered with in anyway the update throws an error and not go thru. Nothing to worry there.
