This is what just proves, along with some of Apples other ridiculous moves, that they are controlled by totally out of touch boomers. Even the damn Apple TV remote has USBC now and a nearly 2,000 dollar “pro” phone does not.

The dynamic outline completely ruins the entire purpose and idea of the dynamic outline they showed us all back in September. It’s almost always there, big and garish, makes me sick. I was cooking last night while watching tv and had a pill shaped ring for the Apple TV, and a gross orange ring for the timer. Looks like something you’d see on a jitterbug made for seniors, it’s beyond ridiculous. For a company known for its “simplistic designs”, this has got to be the most cluttered, ugly, and outright bad design moves they’ve ever made. This alone is such an eyesore I’m thinking of returning this thing and getting a Pixel 7pro. It’s really bad when Android is more Apple-like than Apple.
BYEEEEEEEEEE

I gotta say it’s running smooth as glass on my 14 Pro Max. Battery life also seems excellent. I’ve also not had a single sitter when swiping home yet.

I wonder if lag had to do with like a live Home Screen/Lock Screen combo like the earth one or something on prior to 16.1

Or did you experience lag with static home and lockscreen wallpapers as well?

I honestly don’t think I had seen it and usually sensitive to that stuff

Thanks. I was looking on the Apple website. Too bad it's been delayed as we're nearing the end of baseball season. Hopefully it will roll out before football ends!

I don’t think it’s delayed, per se. I think they did the testing they needed during those early betas and then stopped. I think you’ll see it all back when 16.1 is released and other app developers have submitted apps with Live Activity built in.

Don’t discount the anti-trust sword hanging over Apple’s head. They don’t want to look like they’ve grabbed the best screen real estate for their apps before other apps can even get out of the starting gate. They’ll wait till devs can get apps through review and out there.

I hope you're right. This is the one feature I've been looking forward to, especially now as the Yankees are in the playoffs.

Hows gaming in general? So far all the ios 16 version has stutter while gaming, particularly in Genshin Impact. This is on an iphone 14 pro max.

It wasn't happening from the lock screen though. It was happening inside apps and then swiping home.

Having an issue where every time I open the App Store on my phone (14 Pro Max), the panel comes up saying Cannot Connect first instead of usually opening up on the Today tab and allowing me to pull up my account and see if any apps have been updated.

I’ve been having that issue too.

13 ProMax - OTA

Well this bites….
Pushing my way through a bad case of COVID … yeah, it sucks.
Anyway, got back from the UC to get a follow up test (work req - their paperwork), took a photo of the test results on my 13 ProMax to send in.
Noticed the paper color was very off color and the typing was blurring toward orange yellow (see attached - its my quasi redacted COVID form). It is standard white printer paper with black fonts.

Late morning lighting on my coffee table.

I really hope the rest of RC is better.
Will update my IPad Pro later today.
It’s rest time.
Get better soon !!!

Good to see they’ve been hard at work on the CarPlay issues…

At least it wasn’t the Map app, while I was driving. I can always have Siri play the album I was listening to, and then skip ahead.. but geesh. Only a few hours in…

Funnily this happens on my partner’s 14 Pro and not my 14 Pro. Both were updated via IPSW.

The swiping up lag was horrible on beta 5 for me on my 14 pro max. It does take time before it builds up. So far so good after 6 hours. I think it’s some sort of memory management issue.
