My iPhone is constantly using system based location services on this beta. Done hard reset etc.

Don't need any screenshot, it doesn't update the alarm time on the Lock Screen for the sleep alarm.
Im gonna try it again on the old timey XR and see if it still works for me on this beta. Hope it doesn't break it. (even though I don't really use it ) :)

[Edit] Well I added the widget and it showed off even thou I had alarms set. Had to turn off alarms, reboot, then turn back on. It now shows my tomorrow AM alarm so will see if it updates to the afternoon alarm tomorrow after AM alarm completes. Will report back.

Gaming stutter/touch input bug is still here. Honestly don't notice anything fixed aside from the video rotation bug. Can we realistically hope for anything major to be fixed before release or do we have to wait for the 16.3 beta?

Do you by chance have the toggle for “status bar icon” under location services>system settings set to on? If so, it will show when your location is used in the background for every system service toggle that you have on in that menu. The screenshot provided is on my iPad, but it’s similar on iPhone devices.

Mine is too. I am going to watch my battery closely. Might have to downgrade if it becomes a battery hog

13 ProMax
Looked in Location Services and found it was constantly checking Compass Calibration and Networking & Wireless.

I turned off Compass.
Hard reboot and Networking & Wireless just keeps checking nonstop.

The recent 16.1.2 update included improved compatibility with wireless carriers. This could have also been included in the 16.2 beta 4 update and is what you might be experiencing with the constant checking since you recently updated. You also might check to see if the toggle for the “status bar icon” is on under system services in the location menu. I would not recommend turning off compass and calibration if you want accurate gps navigation when in use.

Status Bar icon is on.
Except for some testing I seldom use my iPhone for Nav.
Turned it back on and it went purple in a few seconds.

I'm just going to keep an eye on them for now.
Carrier is AT&T with good 5G signal.

Anyone having extremely low call volume? To the point of almost not being able to hear the person on the other end? This happened to this iP11 before and I remember reading it is sone kind of known glitch. I can’t remember the website I found where there was a trick to fix it, something about sliding the sound slider in settings back and forth very quickly or something, but it’s not working. And the solution is nothing you see when googling and get all the common things to try.

Does this fix the issue where on 16.1 using YouTube and pip it makes the phone really warm?

Here are a few items related that sounds like may help your issue. The Apple doc mentions sliding the sound slider.

Turn the status bar icon toggle to off if you don’t want to see the system services status in your control center or the gps icon constantly on. Do a google search on what each of those system services do and what they accomplish. I utilize all of them because I enjoy most of the features they allow. I don’t notice any battery drain whatsoever. I am on an iPhone 14 Pro Max.
