I downloaded the entire RC using my 5G connection. iOS did not nag me the “connect to Wifi bla bla”. Downloaded it in barely 2 mins and installed it in another 15 mins. Thankfully my Carrier is giving a free 5G Trial for 1 year with no extra charges or Data caps to test their network. Only catch: I recharge my Prepaid sim with ₹1559 ($20) which is a 4G yearly plan.
It was thoroughly satisfying. 😋

Why you laugh? You do know how those letters in betas work, yes?

No, I laugh because there is way to much emphasis on them and then from you it turns it out it goes even deeper than that.

I’m not one for caring that much about importance of an RC after a ‘?’ Build, as my first message flagged that point, it was for a later period in time when the letters discussion comes up again 👍🏼

P.s if I didn’t know how something worked, I’d ask. Like I did yesterday about the build numbers. learning is a lovely free gift.

I’m having 4-5% of battery drain overnight. Is that normal? Is that better on 16.2 (even on previous betas)? Thank you

Pretty significant battery drain overnight. Will reinstall with IPSW. However, I did turn on advanced data protection last night so maybe that has something to do with this?

This all depends upon what you have enabled and configured on your device. Normal for you won't be normal for someone else.

I suggest looking at your battery stats to see what is draining your battery overnight. Background syncing is typically a culprit for battery drain during periods when you believe the device to be idle.

I think battery life is definitely better in RC.
What is “normal” for one person is not necessarily “normal “ for another. Everyone use their phone differently, has it set up differently, has different apps and of course different expectations of what they expect from an iPhone or any other battery powered item.

Hey, has anyone seen this?
Getting that same message trying to enable it on a 14 PM I have had since launch day... guess that's not old enough.. 😡

UPDATE: After updating my iPad Pro to the 16.2 RC I tried to enable ADP from there thinking maybe I needed to update it as well and got THIS message. (Odd I didn't get this on my iPhone PM)

Spoke too soon. Now it's happening on MBP and iPad Air too. Even the Apple Music account on the HomePods shows email instead of the name. Resetting the settings and signing out and back into iCloud doesn't help. Driving me nuts. @StumpyBloke @mszilard

Have you tried restarting the devices?
Sounds like an LDAP outage for mapping emails to names.
