Updated 14 Pro from IOS 16.2 to IOS 16.3. Battery is marginally better than IOS 16.2. IOS 16 is shi*t from factory version and 14 Pro is first iPhone I updating regularly because there is so many bugs.

Both my 13PM and iPad Pro 11 have it.
Do you update from beta / RC? I remember my iPad (who has it), was updated from 15.6 beta to 16.3. Maybe it assumes the device still running RC / beta version.
I don’t have it on my iPhone which was updated from 16.2 public release.

13 ProMax / iPad Pro 11
Settings > Battery

On my iPad when I look at battery for Last 10 Days it shows me the Avg Screen On and Avg Screen Off times
On my iPhone when I look at battery for the Last 10 Days the Avg and Actual are the same.

Reboot did not help.
Hard Reboot fixed the issue. It was the Last 24 Hours that was incorrect.

Just another oddity that you have to (hard) reboot for.

Bit more battery stuff….

With 16.3 I am seeing battery improvement on my iPad from 6 to 7 hours on avg. Still poor but an improvement.
With 16.3 I am seeing no change on the iPhone. Still seeing 10-12 hours or a bit more.

IPhone - while on standby and charging I am seeing background activity for up to an hour each night (Photos). I do not have iCloud backup turned on. (Manually back up photos). Not sure what is going on. Not seeing this on the iPad.

With this update my iPhone dropped 3% on battery health. There was no change on the iPad.

So far all else seems the same - no change from previous version.

I am also seeing less than optimal battery life on this release.

So I’ll charge it a bit more frequently until they resolve whatever is doing this.

Problem solved!

The constant “System Services” location pings are starting to get annoying. It’s partly OCD wondering the battery impact, but also visually just having it pop up in your periphery. Tempted to just disable system service icon and pretend it doesn’t exist at this point

Oddly it still happens with Find My iPhone disabled… then it’s the Compass Calibration that seems to trigger it… then still happens if you disable Compass Calibration and have Find my iPhone enabled

On a train right now and it’s even worse so must be something to do with Find My trying to keep track of where your device is.

I did notice they removed the old geofencing icon... so it is perhaps just doing what it used to do just more obnoxiously

On my side I am not seeing any real battery impact on my iPhone, but still it is unusual and makes me wonder why ….

A day after I updated my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 16.3, I found that I was logged out of just about all of my apps. I found my Apple Watch 5 was disconnected, too (had to re-pair it). Most hair-raising was my Microsoft Authenticator app had no tokens for any of the accounts stored within it (I was able to restore a backup that fixed this). Is this just coincidence? Or did any of the security enhancements in 16.3 (e.g., security key support) cause this spontaneous reset?

Ah good they fixed the air pods case showing 0% in the widget. It’s the little things.
Correct, but again case charge % is gone in Settings > AirPodsName

EDIT: it’s Airpods Pro Gen1

Hi everyone,

Is anyone still experiencing the system lockups or freezing after 16.3? I know that was an issue with 16.2 at least on the 14-series phones.

Thank you.

Thank you both for the heads up. I was surprised to see an article on the UK news about freezing and other major issues, wasn't sure how out of date the info was as it didn't mention a OS version on the article, lol.

No battery impact, just disable the icon.

Looks like 16.3 is doing well for most of us .. its rock solid for me no issues here…
One part of Siri got fixed, when asking Siri to go into sleep mode with 16.3 and 9.3 watchOS it now puts both iPhone and watch into sleep mode finally, works flawlessly.
Battery life is excellent
Have a great day 👊🏼
