Does anybody actually have a Mac that can install Xcode and have a look at what is causing the Location pings?

I'd do it myself, but sold my Macbook last year...

Oh Apple…. Why is this so hard? So much money in this setup and it never ******* works.

Rebooting the router has done nothing . I remember when I had my 13 pm before this 14 pm I had same issues .. no idea why
Having some occasional issues connecting to cellular (LTE) data when switching off airplane mode to place a call on my 13 mini—a moment after failing to establish any data connection it attempts to connect to EDGE (3G?).

Perhaps your and my connection issues on this version have something to do with the updated modem firmware issued to 13-series devices?

Here’s to hoping that 16.4 brings us a stable modem and other sweet fixes :)

When I read this forum it makes me feel like my iPhone is a faulty mess of terribly written software. But when I don’t read for a while the phone starts to feel great…I stop looking for tiny niggles all of the time.

I think the iPhone is a complex ecosystem of many, many software layers. There will never ever be a time when everything is perfect for everyone with it - it’s like a huge world of complexity. I think we just end up endlessly chasing our own tails here and feeling let down. A pointless pursuit perhaps, just a thought 🤷🏻‍♂️

I had the same issue in 16.0.3. Need to see if it persists in 16.3

Well except for the battery indicator and the live activities I couldn’t tell any more differences. By the way, battery is still acceptable but I think it lasted more in .0.3 while gaming. Standby looks better on .3 though

It’s important to moderate your consumption of negative press. Just like mainstream media, in small doses it has its advantages but it’ll bring you down if you watch too much.

‘Round here I just mute those that come in with constant negativity. Easily the best feature of any forum.

Anyway, 16.3 is a dream on my 14PM in a vacuum. The ecosystem has been a consistent nightmare but with the complexities involved I’m more inclined to cut them some slack.

I think it's very important to remember that a lot of issues are specific to that user, not to everyone on the planet with that device. I’ve had a couple odd issues both on my phone and iPad that I posted about seeking any others that were seeing the same thing but got essentially no response or a few saying they had not encountered that problem but also said they didn’t use their device in that way. In almost every case a later update fixed the issue for me which I assume was part of another related issue that just happened to fix mine along with it. Occasionally I’ve had to sign out of iCloud to resolve the problem that was specific to me. That’s the most drastic step I’ve ever had to take fortunately. I rarely have most of the issues posted about here, especially battery issues which I’ve not had a reason to even think about for many years. Certain issues are general iOS issues affecting many if not most users and get commented on in various forums and media outlets. The rest I just attribute to those users that use their devices in a way I don’t or have apps installed that are causing a problem I don’t have.
