Have you ever been?

I think the option is there and you select what you are. And if you are that, your phone behaves and gives you the right software 🤷🏽

It seems to still be in its infancy. And Apple isnt that clear about all this - wish it was. Would love an iOS archive to go to and learn about every little setting, etc.
I don't think it's like that, because only the public beta option appears to me. The developer beta does not appear, but I see it as normal, I have never had a developer account, but I have friends in the same situation, and they do get both options, so it is a bit random whether they appear or not

Anyone else have IG stories not have any sound while on silent mode? Usually if you watch a story on silent you can press either volume up or down and it will play sound but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Another bug I noticed is watching YouTube videos full screen no longer shows the volume bar when adjusting the volume.

I definitely have the IG bug. But I have it with every iOS upgrade, then IG needs to fix the app. No idea why they have no better way to permanently fix it.

I didn't check the YouTube one.

On my side IG doesn’t load any music during the choice in story mode. It’s some time it doesn’t work

Didnt Apple change the whole Beta thing? Once a listed device it turns up in ”updates” and not as a profile? Did for me. I just unticked Beta updates after installing RC
Yeah they did but until now it hasn't seemed to be live or working. I am guessing its now live since the RC actually deleted the profile. All Apple documentation states "if on ios 16.4..... (new settings)" "If on iOS 16.3 or earlier use the profile...blah blah"

That’s a terrible user experience, in my opinion. Who wants to take the phone away from their ear and fiddle with Control Center to turn this on for every call? At least with FaceTime you already have the phone away from your head.
Once I turned it on, it's on by default for every call. Would only need to "fiddle" if, for some reason, I wanted to turn it off.

But if that were the case then why didn’t it delete for all of us? 🤔

Because iOS is full of bugs? :)

I have no profile installed (any more) and have never been a developer but am still enrolled in the dev betas. I suspect it'll remain flakey until iOS 17, upon which I'll be demoted from Dodgy Developer to Plebby Public.

Yeah good question. Much like other things Apple I guess. Some have this and some have that on exact same hardware and iOS version. So who knows. One explanation was if device UDID was registered it kept the profile and if not it deleted it. But again if they are no longer using profiles after 16.4 why not just delete it for everyone?????

[Edit] Or the most correct answer is directly above this post. 🤣

not only that but who would ever want to turn voice isolation off? should be a general setting that you can leave on, in my opinion

It’s strange because the last time I was a paid “developer” was like 10 years ago, so there’s no way any of my current device UDIDs have been registered, yet the profile persists across all of them.

Just tried it, and works fine. Just for clarity, I started music playing on my HomePod mini, and transferred it to my iPhone without issue and back again.
Which HomePod software are you running?

EDIT: jumped the gun — I see you’re running 16.4 on the HomePod. I’ll wait until next week when 16.4 officially releases and I can get it on my HomePods before resetting my iPhone network settings.

Yeah that is weird. Maybe its a location thing. No telling, but I would guess soon it will be deleted for everyone since they are no longer using profiles. I would be curious to see if you sit tight and see if it ever deletes on its own for you.

Interesting, No not registered so perhaps thats why it dropped. But Apple is saying after 16.4 profiles are no longer needed or gonna work anyway so figured they were moving ahead with getting rid of them.
If you go to software update you will find the beta active, there you can switch it off

Has anyone tried Voice Isolation on a phone call yet? I noticed while driving my Raptor the other person doesn’t have as hard of a time hearing me because my engine is too loud. Must be working good

But not for regular calls I suppose? I can see the option only on app/ FaceTime calls.
Yes for regular calls too as of 16.4.

Have to agree with that. Have changed all my original devices since I signed up. A few times.

One additional strange item: went into Dev to pay and it told me I had to turn on 2FA to proceed. I've had that turned on for a while now. Reaching out to Apple has provided no solution to date. For now everything is available for me.
