Writing this for a friend: he enrolled in the Apple Developer Program solely for the purpose of getting developer betas in the future using the new system Apple implemented (yeah I know, some of us are crazy). But the "iOS 16 Developer Beta" option doesn't show up in the "Beta updates" menu, despite him being logged in with the correct Apple ID.

I've had the developer program for longer, and on mine it shows. We are both running the RC.

Does anyone have any experience on how long it takes between subscribing and the menu option showing up?

Mine are correctly displaying in the pop-up…I don’t remember the last time the engraving was shown properly. So funny how wildly the software experience can vary between users.

On another note, the image selection window that came up in Safari when I went to post this was super glitchy and flickery.
The first photo shows a common bug where in Settings > AirpodsName only headphones battery level is shown and case info is lost

Hmm. Can I ask you to try something?

Handoff works fine for me if I start playing music on my iPhone and then transfer it to the HomePod (it’ll show the “iPhone -> HomePod” description). I can also transfer music back to the iPhone from the HomePod with no issue.

The problem for me is that if I initiate playing music on the HomePod itself (in other words, not using the “iPhone -> HomePod” method, but actually starting the music on the HomePod itself), I can’t transfer it to the iPhone.

Would you mind testing this so I can start isolating the problem and troubleshooting? Thanks.
It’s working without any issue for me on my minis and 13P. Initiated music on the paired minis using Siri and was able to swap it back and forth with no issues. Everything on 16.4 RC.

First of all big thanks to big man @Banglazed.

Now then RC is up and running on my IP14 Pro and i dont see no difference 😂.

The 21 emojis they’ve added i’ll hardly use them and rest of the changes listed are just ********.

My Beta Profile dropped after update but beta update options are still there. If i turn off beta updates the feedback app disappears and if i turn it back on it appears again (magic 😂).

Im hoping battery improves little bit more (for me battery was good on beta 4).

And thats that. I hope this is the end of iOS 16. Just be done with it Apple because it sux.

Hmm…interesting.

I had no problems with handoff until I downloaded the first 16.4 beta. My HomePods are all running 16.3.2.

Been troubleshooting tonight and I wonder if I need to reset my iPhone’s network settings. I can AirPlay from iPhone to HomePod and back with no problems… but the HomePod can’t seem to transfer music to the iPhone, despite the iPhone appearing as an option under the AirPlay menu.

When I tap “iPhone”, nothing happens. It just keeps playing on the HomePod.

Did anyone see the Homekit Architecture Update? I did the update with iOS 16.2. Does that mean the same update was re-released now?

Why do I see the option for developer beta when I’m not a developer?

Have you ever been?

I think the option is there and you select what you are. And if you are that, your phone behaves and gives you the right software 🤷🏽

It seems to still be in its infancy. And Apple isnt that clear about all this - wish it was. Would love an iOS archive to go to and learn about every little setting, etc.

I’ve never had a developer account. But thanks for the answer

If you already done it then we won’t get an update as we have already updated to it

Well that’s interesting. Thanks for checking.

If you start playing music directly from the HomePod mini, can you then transfer it to the iPhone? (I can AirPlay from iPhone -> HomePod, but can never transfer from HomePod to iPhone when music was initially started from the HomePod)

Just tried it, and works fine. Just for clarity, I started music playing on my HomePod mini, and transferred it to my iPhone without issue and back again.

You probably need 16.4 on the HomePods

might only come up in CC when on a call similar to how it works now with facetime

That’s a terrible user experience, in my opinion. Who wants to take the phone away from their ear and fiddle with Control Center to turn this on for every call? At least with FaceTime you already have the phone away from your head.

Most likely early days. But my battery life seems to have taken a hit on my 13 Pro. I had excellent battery life on 16.3.1
